Yeah, you were better off with the robot.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

@ Avatar - The Children of Hurin is quite nice yes, I've read it a few years ago.
The thing where I'm still hoping for that they are gonna do the same with the story of Beren and Luthien.
Somewhere in the word of the author he's talking about that besides the manuscript of the Children of Hurin, that there were also manuscripts of Beren and Luthien and another story.
So I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for that one.
Typo......

Welcome to all the new peoples.
On a side note: If you are going to buy the Children of Hurin, just buy the Unfinished Tales instead. The Children is in there in almost the exact same form. It was a major letdown when I bought Children of Hurin and noticed it was the SAME.

Wowee that's quite the spoiler there (I know you gave prior warning, but I'd recommend the mods tag or remove it anyways, as this is often the first thread people come to and some just can't help seeing a few words jump out at them. It's good that you've got such an emotional involvement, though, Aziz!

Welcome to all who are new since the last time I posted. Have to admit, I am slightly worried by someone's comment that virgins could be fed to a little thing on a hand... Only slightly though...

Don't worry, it's a hoax. The pentagram is upside down.
@T'lan Coltain: You say you like metal and rock, but you've got a Japanese cartoon character in both your avatar and your signature. Something is not right here....
...or I'm getting old, and that's what the teens do these days...

14 is most definitely NOT the prime of your life. 18 isn't either. Hell, in the U.S. you couldn't even drink at that point yet! 25-40 is where stuff happens. The rest is growing up and growing old. And, now that I've offended half the forum...
I've had the prime of my life and I owe it all booze.
