It's my opinion that the Tyrant is Kallor. He seems to know Darujhistan from long ago and claims to have been Tyrant of more than one empire/land/city/realm/whatever not just the one he destroyed. Also he was returning to Darujhistan to claim a thrown, ostensibly the throne of the House of Chains but if so there must be a reason that the throne is in Darjuhistan.

Well one thing is the tyrant is jaghut, and Kallor is not Jaghut. Also we have met the tyrant and its raest and there stuck in the Azath.

Raest was a Jaghut Tyrant, we don't know that he was ever the Tyrant of Darujhistan. Also Baruk and Vorcan both fear the return of the Tyrant and both are well aware of Raests whereabouts so this suggests that it is not Raest.

Yup, Raest was A tyrant, but not the Tyrant of Darujhistan. We know, for example, that there were various tyrant kings and such.

Drawing a blank here on who the Tyrant could be. While i really hope it ends up being someone or something we haven't met yet, i have a feeling it will be one of the Ascendants that we always hear about but never see onscreen.

The Tyrant couldn't have been Raest. Raest was imprisoned hundreds of thousands of years ago. The city of Darujhistan is called the "city founded on a rumor" the rumor being the resting place of an imprisoned Jaghut Tyrant (Raest). Kallor would be interesting, but I don't think so because I'm not sure how he would have controlled the Seguleh or the T'orrud Cabal. Also it seems to ignore the plot line of Humble Measure and how he found something under the city that seems to be related to resurrecting the original tyrant.
So, you're the historian who survived the Chain of Dogs.
Actually, I didn't.

We now know for certain that there is a throne beneath Darujhistan (Kallor was heading there because of that) and we know that the Council has been preparing to defend against the arrival (or revival) of a Tyrant to claim that throne, we also know that the Seguleh are involved (honeyed Seguleh) although why the honeyed Seguleh are stored in K'rul's old temple raises questions. The big is question who is the Tyrant? Not enough info to answer that but I think that Not-Humble Measure might be looking to be more than just a servant, could he possibly be trying to use the Tyrant to sit the throne himself? (On second thought that sounds a tad far-reaching for Not-Humble).
The Errant scowled and looked away, his good mood evaporating. 'Mortals,' he said, 'will eat anything.'

We don't know there is a throne under the city. We have no idea what it was Humble Measure found, but if I was to hazard a guess, it would be something that would help resurrect the Tyrant, or somehow give Humble Measure its power.
The throne that Kallor was coming to claim was the throne of the House of Chains in the temple to the Crippled God in Darujhistan.

What temple to the Crippled God?

In TtH the ex-temple of Fener becomes the Temple of Chains and the High Priest is an even more crippled Munug. Harll0's adoptive parents go there hoping the God can help them and get trampled by fanatics.

Oh, that one! Thanks Bauchelain for that.
Although from what I understand about thrones they don't sit in the mortal realm. In particular the King in Chains was Rhulad, who became King because of the insane-maker sword he got and not from sitting on the throne so I don't think that Kallor is going for that particular throne.

Well at that point I think rhulad was dead, so I think the throne was up for grabs. Also thrones can and do exist in the mortal realm: throne of shadow anyone? The first throne?
There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.

I'm still surprised that Baruk thought that Rake couldn't stop the Tyrant, must be impressive if Rake cannot help

It's all TTH, so it doesn't need a spoiler tag, and it's pretty vague anyway. If you want to check out some quotes, pages 152-153 are available for TTH on Google Reader. In this section, Baruk is talking about the T'orrud Cabal and the return of the Tyrant of Darujhistan (and therefore not Raest). In his musings, he wonders if he should have asked Rake for help but concludes he may not have been enough to help. Futher, Baruk thus concludes that either way, since the return of the Tyrant is imminent, that at least one of the three surviving Cabal will betray the others to curry favor with the Tyrant.

I do remember now. Thanks! I think this is also where he's debating whether he should be the first to go to the Tyrant's side before anyone else of the Cabal does?

Yea he was thinking that Crone offered Anomanders help and then says that even with his help it would not be enough.
So Baruk says that himself, Derudan, Vorcan and Anomander are not enough to stop the Tyrant.
He then says this means one of them will betray the others, maybe Vorcan, maybe Derudan.."maybe even me"
Just a pretty surprising statement considering they would be 3 High Mages and one Super Duper High Mage in Rake...

This is pretty much a random thought but could the Tyrant be Draconus? Has it ever been stated exactly how long he has been imprisoned inside Dragnipur? The reason I started thinking of Draconus was a passage on p.64 (Bantam paperback), where Baruk is reading a story about Rake and Osserc from a scroll, and Draconus has just escaped them with the help of Spite.
'It was decided then that Anomander would set out once more, to hunt down the evil tyrant. To destroy him and his cursed sword which is an abomination in the eyes of the Thousand Gods and all who kneel to them.'
For me this passage just feels a bit too convenient.
