Basically every other race in the 40k universe is cooler than the space marines. How come every other person in the world only ever raves about them.

Because having never played even I can see that GW has a love affair with them and gives them an unfair advantage.

religious fanatics can be kind of cool I guess. I'm an –or was at any rate– High Elf and Necron player, so I dunno.

@Gem Warhammer 40K I suppose. Never played that. Too expensive and no friends who play.

40k is not one of my faves but I always played Eldar.

Space Marines in Epic though

But my first love was Dwarves in FB.

I always thought Space Marines were totally weak compared to how good they were supposed to be when you read the fiction etc

nothing could beat my high elf army. Fast, versatile, and I could dropp mountains on the enemy. They've removed that spell in the newer version for some reason. I can't imagine it is half as fun without it.

I've never played Warhammer table top or Computer games (except a but of Reckoning) but I LOVE the 40K lore and have managed to read a few good books about the Grey Knights and Souldrinker Space Marine chapters and also read up on wiki and magazine articles.

I'm guessing your complaint is connected with some issue with stats and their abilities in the tabletop game, which I know nothing about, but as story characters and concept Space Marines are fucking AWESOME!

3 meter tall, genetically and mechanically altered, hand picked warriors from the toughest worlds, gifted with genome of the sons of the Godlike Corpse Emperor, giving them super strength, super speed, super durability, bodies wrapped in wards and rituals, protected by gigantic power armors that further enhances their formidable abilities. Equipped with weapons of faith and ancient technology that makes them even more awesome. Chainsaw swords for the win. They're fucking amazing, that's what they are.

I played DoW, definitely preferred the Elder as far as game play went. Online population was never big though, kinda made it suck.

There is a DoWII now?
I still heart Goodkind.

I was really dissapointed when it turned out that the warhammer MMORPG turned out to be the fantasy version and not the science fiction one.

Fantasy MMORPGs are a dime a dozen, a sci-fi version would have been something comepletely different and it could have been so gooooood.

I haven't played Warhammer Online, I heard it's pretty good though. There's a couple Sci Fi MMO's out there.
I still heart Goodkind.
