I quite like the Trailer. I played the 2003 version of PoP and the voices and interaction between the female lead and the the Prince are spot on.

Just saw the new Robin Hood (Ridley Scott + Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett). It wasn't as bad as some of the reviews made out, but there were at least 3 "WTF?" moments where I think either the editor was drunk and Ridley didn't check it, or the studio had final cut and dropped about 30+ mins of quite necessary exposition because they think audiences can't cope with movies over 2 hours that aren't constant action scenes.

Still, I give it 3 stars out of 5, and I await the desperately needed Director's Cut with the crucial missing scenes.

One thing that struck me though - the time frame in the movie was waaaaaay too short. These kinds of stories need time for characters to learn about each other and the situation. A simple montage representing a year passing and people growing closer and finding reasons to do things that were otherwise inexplicable would have sufficed, or even a few short cut scenes with the same effect.
I always thought that about the original Stargate movie too. A (represented) few months on Abydos instead of a couple of days would have been better to develop characters and plot.
I think both come back to motivations - audiences with any capacity for thought find it difficult to believe change occurs in a few days, but understandable over a longer (but still relatively short) time frame.

As another example, in Robin Hood it means the difference between King John being depicted as a petulant child and a more intelligent but weak man who was easily manipulated.

Saw Ironman 2 last night, and yes, it was awesome. Not as good as the first one, and it did seem a bit lacking in bite, maybe it was just a bit too predictable, and the ending was a bit of a let down. But overall I really enjoyed it, for what it was.

Forgot to mention, saw the trailers for Scott Pilgrim vs the world and Tom Cruise/Cameron Diaz' new flick before Robin Hood. Scott Pilgrim looks like good fun, and surprisingly, so does the Cruise/Diaz flick (which I didn't catch the name of unfortunately). Looks like Cruise is in "not taking self seriously" mode, which was awesome in Tropic Thunder.

EDIT: a little googling reveals it's called "Knight and Day". Sounds cheesy.

CANNES, France (AP) - Shia LaBeouf says the second "Transformers" movie got too big for its own good - but the third one brings the heart back to the franchise.

LaBeouf, who starts work on the next "Transformers" sequel Tuesday, said the third installment will be the best one yet. The new script restores a human element that got lost in the second movie, LaBeouf said.

"When I saw the second movie, I wasn't impressed with what we did," LaBeouf said in an interview Thursday at the Cannes Film Festival, where his finance drama "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" is premiering. "There were some really wild stunts in it, but the heart was gone."

"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" was a runaway commercial success but was drubbed by critics.

Michael Bay returns for the third time as director of the science-fiction franchise, which centers on dueling races of giant robots that bring their war to Earth. The next movie will have what the last one lacked - a sense of human consequences, LaBeouf said.

On the second movie, "we got lost. We tried to get bigger. It's what happens to sequels. It's like, how do you top the first one? You've got to go bigger," LaBeouf said. "Mike went so big that it became too big, and I think you lost the anchor of the movie. ... You lost a bit of the relationships. Unless you have those relationships, then the movie doesn't matter. Then it's just a bunch of robots fighting each other."

With "Transformers 3," the toll of the robot war will be grave for our planet, LaBeouf said.

"There's going to be a lot of death, human death. This time, they're targeting humans," LaBeouf said. "It's going to be the craziest action movie ever made, or we failed."

Legion: Decent to good action sequences mixed with non-action sequences that can't hold the plot together to make it decent. 4 possessed humans out of 10.

The Blind Side: Decent piece, but different than what I thought it would be. Most certainly concentrates on the relationship between the main character and his pseudo family, as opposed to football. Still, it's a pretty good flick. 6 offensive lineman out of 10.

Iron Man 2: Not as good as the first as the plot is not as tight. Ending is anti-climactic, but it holds its own as a popcorn flick. 7 tubs of corn out of 10.

I saw the trailer when I went to see Ironman 2. I liked it.

Personally I don't think there's ever been any problem with Tom Cruise acting ability and the roles he's played, all though he some times looks too typecast, much like Bruce Willis. Diaz just looked like the screwy hot chick as usual, which is fine, I've been in love with that role ever since the Charlies Angels films (Please make more Hollywood!)

I can't quite tell if the film takes place in the real world or inside her own her, but it certainly looks fun. Lots of bang bang, sploding stuff and witty dialogue.

I don't really care what LaBøf says in an interview, him taking the piss out of Transformers 2 sounds more like him trying to save face than anything else.

Personally I liked the film, much to the dismay of the rest of the Forum. I didn't think the film was too big at all, I liked the "adventure movie" angle it began with the hunt for that Matrix stuff, but I thought the manuscript was sloppy and all over the place. The film would have benefited from being split in two.

How ever I like the suggestion that the film is going to get more gritty. I'd love it if they took a page out of the All Hail Megatron comic book miniseries, where the Decepticons have conquered earth and are destroying the cities and enslaving humanity.
