I would not say everyone who didn't like it didn't like it for the reasons I stated, but an awful lot of the complaints I've seen about BvS either directly or indirectly result in "this isn't how the comic did it". That's just my experience though. YMMV.

See, I'm glad that a Superman story FINALLY gave me a Pa Kent who was realistic as to what a parent would be, and not some 1940's Farmer who is so perfect and infallible that he's the reason Clark is who he is as a hero. Which was fine back then, but contains absolutely no viscera of story for me in the 2010's.
As a parent, watching Pa Kent basically not want his son to be poked and prodded like the alien he is, or imprisoned out of fear of his power, ect. is exactly how I would be as a parent. Is that selfish? Probably. But what guarantee does he have that those things won't happen to Clark if the world finds out? And again, I think it bothered people because most of the source material has Pa Kent as the bellwether for Clark's moral compass...while Snyder just makes him get there on his own through a trial by fire instead.

What is it that made it fall apart for you, ignoring that the Flash moment is/was a snippet of the original planned 3 JL movies, I assume it wasn't just that moment, but what came after. I'd be curious what didn't work for you.
