I'm excited for Brightburn! Looks like a hoot.

Prepubescent superboy beating up the lunchlady who was mean to him.

Meh.

Dude that's a diner waitress, not a lunch lady! None of this reads as schoolboy tantrum to me. This is a superpower-fueled horror movie, like a What If comic but for Superman, not Powder II: The Revenge.

But if I'm wrong I'll eat my hat.

What the hell, y'all are gonna drive me nuts. That's clearly a diner, a 19X0s retro waitress outfit, there's coffee mugs on every table, and she has both a nametag and the diner's name sewn onto the chest. Also there is an Open/Closed sign on the door, and arcade games and a claw machine in there.

I'ma put this right here. Sure, I know the zombie genre probably started getting tiresome some 10 years ago now, but do some 'vestigatin on this one, it could be fun. Posted Image

Well, if nothing else, Bill Murray makes it more palatable more or less instantly.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

It is 100% a diner/restaurant.

That said, if you guys had trolled me into a heart attack on April Fools Day, my ghost would have come back to show you where all the gold is hidden. So keep that in mind for next year.

Re: The Dead Don't Die, I'm excited for it. It might be hokey -- looks like it's largely a "zom-com" -- but Jim Jarmusch has made me laugh so hard I'd trust him with a comedic stab at almost any genre. Plus Ghost Dog could have been super hokey but it ruled.

I want to watch something epic. CNN and FOX are boring me.

Thinking about going to buy Krull, or throw on Avatar or Logan or Saving Private Ryan or Cast Away or Aliens or Debbie does Dallas.

If you can, find that old SciFi movie, Screamers, from ´95 with Peter Weller.

It's good stuff.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

I have a caveat about it. My ex-gf hardcore OBSESSED over these films and basically turned me off watching them with her constant swooning fandom.

I love most of the other Pixar output....but TS was never my bag.

So look. The Joker being an unreliable narrator of his own past is important and if this film goes that route then none of this will apply…but it feels like this is trying to angle this as a combo of mental illness and "situation"…which feels so wrong. The Joker isn’t mentally ill. He’s super intelligent, and is just blatantly, and unforgiving controlled chaos. I don’t want a story where we see the “things that lead him to be the Joker” or the "cruelty he was subjected to" that pushed him in one direction or another…that robs him of his elegance.

The Joker became the Joker because he wanted to, not because anyone pushed him into it, circumstances or otherwise.

This is not for me.

I ordered a copy of Heroin Diaries just the other day after I heard a recommendation in a podcast.

Is the dirt similar to Heroin Diaries?

I haven't read The Dirt, but I imagine the Nikki portions of The Dirt will be similar to his Heroin Diaries stuff.
