I got a much bigger kick out of the Star Wars bit. That rocked.

Oh yeah, that was awesome too. I wasn't expecting that either, so it was a pleasant surprise.

The only major one that was R-rated was I think Oldboy (which has made a truly hilarious 4mil worldwide off a 35mil budget).

Hell even on TV: UTOPIA coming on HBO,

I heard Finchers sorting it which bodes well. I forgot it was you posting that got me to watch it. That show was really good for such a low budget one and im unsure whether it will cut across the pond too well. I hope so. Did the British one get a Second season greenlit QT?

I saw Riddick. Very fun small cast of characters movie for me, especially with seeing Vaako still playing fair with Riddick. I'm a full believer in Vin and Twohy being able to effectively tell the story.

The story, animals, the environment and the settings were all very well done for the $40 million budget. Hope the next one comes out similarly.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Indeed it did. They are shooting it now apparently, and multiple new cast members have been added to the existing ones. Can't wait to see where the story goes. Also, more Fiona O'Shaunessy.

Ill be interested to see who plays the head henchman (guy from football factory whose name I cant remember) as he was the star of the show.

We went to 300 RoaE today. It was quite cool. Naval warfare on crack!

Saw it yesterday evening. I rather liked it.

Looking forward to the next one, which we all know is coming.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Probably going to see that on Sunday. Good to hear it's entertaining.

I saw it last night. Not bad. I never saw the original but I'm told this movie actually interleaves with it as opposed to being a sequel.

Wasn't a fan of the main actor, but it was really Eva Green's movie anyway.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

OH OH OH OH!!!

And the score is amazing, it sets a near-perfect stage for the mood and setting of the film.

Saw 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE.

Damn I enjoyed the shit out of that. It's an excellent companion piece to the original, and acts as prologue, sidelong naval events with the Athenians, and then an epilogue as well.

Loved every frame. Eva Green was perfection.

Also, score by Junkie XL?!? Dude, I bought that shit the moment the lights came up as the credits rolled and rocked to it on my way home.

Thanks For Sharing.

well, not what I expected.
having only seen an ad for it and nit actually read any reviews I thought it was going to be silly comedy fare.

most certainly not, what I got was a strange film, that I couldn't turn off. It wasn't great, it was awful, it was just morbidly compelling to see where the characters went.
Was it designed to highlight people struggles with addictions? (I ho estly don't know). If it was I think it does a fantastic job of it without really touching on the usual suspects of drink, drugs or gambling (although theyre in there, suggesting addictive personality disorder is more prevalent than is suspected). Tim Robins has the hardest character to play imo, and does a masterful job of a man who has tried to bury his past misdeeds in a wave of faux compassion and helpfulness. His son is played quite well also (the more predicatble storyline)
Pink puts in a solid, if nothing else, performance in a relatively small role, would actually like to see her have a bash at something bigger.

BATTLESHIP - the first 50 minutes of this movie are atrociously bad. At least, i think they are.. i ffwd'd everything after the first ten or so and didn't stop until Rihanna started firing a machinegun. The second 50 rest of this movie ispure silly sfx Hollywood nonsense fun and despite the eye-ball rollingly rediculous action sequences and groan-inducing dialogue, i liked it a little.

DESPICABLE ME 2 - the first one was better.

THE HANGOVER - I've seen this movie like six times and it still cracks me up.

I don't know if anyone else is as excited for the Veronica Mars premiere as I am, but I am psyched. I'm gonna go to a VM event w/ cast on stage this Thursday at the Dolby Theater. Never been inside there, but if there's any Oscars pizza on the floor I will snap you guys a photo. Or if you want like Jennifer Lawrence or Matt McConaughey's buttprint from their seat, I'll try to find them.

They JUST the other day made VM the series available (on iTunes) for a reasonable, not ass-rapey price / season. Before last week the seasons were $39.99 EACH digitally...and $75 EACH in store to buy the DVD set...THE D-V-D set FFS...

I've always wanted to watch it, but up till now the price has been STUPID. Like there is no other way to describe it. If I could find those that had priced it as such and scream at them for hours on end while I threw rotten bits of slimy garlic bulbs at them...I fucking would.

But yeah, the plan is now to buy the seasons ($9.99 each on itunes) and watch them all before the movie drops.

:)

Awesome. Just be aware that there was intrusive network tinkering during season 3, so even though there's still solid character-work and plenty of good episodes, some of its story arcs (particularly in the latter half) suffer in comparison to the first two seasons. Also don't be put off that Paris Hilton shows up in the pilot...I mean sometimes you do what you gotta do to get your show on the air, ya know?

I'm checking under his seat and also that old lady from Nebraska's seat.

Worthless anecdote of the day: Accidentally watched The Dreamers once and it grossed me out on Eva Green for all time. I get the same gag reflex for Jennifer Connelly, thanks to the saliva scene in Waking The Dead.
