If it's Rated R it'll stand a chance.

I lovelovelove Venom and enjoyed Zombieland. It sure deserves it's own movie - unlike the Spider-flick We Do Not Name *spit*.
But are we cautiously optimistic on this news, or pants-shittingly terrified and already rocking back and forth shaking our heads crying in the fetal position?

If this has been posted previously I apologise but I didn't see it.
Transformers 5 multiple trailers.
Out soon apparently. I have seen zero promotion for this. Bad sign?

I got to watch a few movies on planes this week:
Rogue One - I thought the Empire folks all acted maybe a bit too dumb/slow to react to everything, and the middle section with the team's interpersonal issues was kinda weird, but overall had a lot of fun watching space thingies explode and it was a pretty solid time overall.
Fantastic Beasts - Couldn't get into this one at ALL. The bank scene was humourous and the chemistry between Newt and Jacob was great, but all the plot twists had the most blatant foreshadowing ever and therefore the whole plot was pretty much entirely predictable after the first 25 minutes, and some of it was so stupid. My immersion and interest were completely pooped after the head magic honchos were like "This cop has arrested our chief suspect and brought them in, but we didn't listen to her yesterday, so IMPRISON AND EXECUTE THE COP!" and everyone just goes along with it without much protest.
Silence (the recent Martin Scorsese one) - Lots of pretty cinematography and environments and whatnot, but man this movie is looooong and super depressing. I don't really get the point of it at all.

I watched Logan. I know you guys said it was good, but you never said it was Eriq La Salle-as-a-farmer good.

It's great but it totally stole that one scene from
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I watched it over the weekend as well. Very good. I'm confused about the affect of lacing a child's skeleton with adamantium. If she survives, would it stunt her growth?

Googled and found an answer.
She only has the Adamantium claws in her hands and feet...she escaped the facility before they coated her entire skeleton in Adamantium.

Yeah, I don't think it is specifically mentioned in the film, but they hadn't coated her full skeleton yet specifically because of that issue.

Is it like a rite of passage to escape from their facility?
They need better security.

I asked that exact same question while I was watching Logan in the cinema, but I completely forgot to look for an answer once I got home and just went on my way. Happy to have found out, good to sate your curiosity even when you've forgotten you were curious!

I am watching David Fincher movies.
It's part of my study selection. For some reason I missed alot of his stuff. Never watched Se7en or Fight Club.
It's weird, people kept selling these movies up as mana from the Gods in cinematology class but I kept putting em off.
Anyways I watched Se7en. That was a well shot movie. I mean there's alot going on there in the plot, the relationships, the subtext in the murders. A ton. Impressive presenting as it did all this story over the span of 7 days without feeling rushed when it needs to move slow or slow when it needs to speed up. Everything fits. Its appropriate down to the finest detail. I now understand why Finchers such a popular Director. I am pleased to have moved out from under my rock.
Anyways about the movie itself, I think Pitt was losing out to Morgan and Gwyneth at some point in the early movie, this was intentional but his part felt a bit overplayed. Spacey put them all in shadow towards the end but that last scene. That was brilliant and I have to admit I was With Pitt in every shot before and after Morgan saw what Spacey had done. That may be my favorite moment from Brad Pitt. It embodied the idea John Doe was aiming for really well. I think Pitt did a great job in that moment, even if his character was a bit much playing up to it.
I didnt like him in the film half as much as I enjoyed him in Troy or Snatch or Benny Button but the sequence stuck, great lines aswell. It's all a good start to my watch.
Well I'm seeing why big names like working with Fincher. I'm gonna watch Fight Club next. By all accounts from my class this trumps Se7en. Then i'm watching the Social Network and i guess The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Looking forward to it.

I don't think FC trumps Se7en, but then again I think Se7en is second only to Silence of the Lambs in terms of thrillers of the 90s. FC is quite good though, and I wonder how you'll take it this much later, post-hype and well after the glut of meatheads who championed it for the exact wrong reasons.

Yeah with Logan she only got the coating on her claws, as per the surgery scenes where she only has her arms and legs opened up, and also yes no one needs a murderous midget - a Verne Destroyer, if you will

Orrrrrrrr does everyone, in fact, really need that?
I was 18 when Se7en came out, i remember being amazed and wearing out my vhs on it. And unlike some thrillers, it holds up as well today as it did then.
