Invincibles. Knew it was something like that... I tell ye, the animated fare is a damn sight better than most of the other films that have been out recently. We should all revel in our inner kiddie more often

@Loosecannon: There's supposed to be a sequel of Blood pretty soon. I saw that and a few episodes of Hellsing recently. Hellsing was stupid, but I liked Blood as much as or maybe more than Vampire Hunter D.
If you like violent and or fantasy animes, my favorites are Record of Lodoss War and Berserk.
Do any of you anime fans have opinions on these series: Texhnolyze, The Twelve Kingdoms, Sol Bianca, The Soul Taker, Last Exile, Vandread, Witch Hunter Robin, Trigun, Blue Seed, El Hazhard OVA (not series), NieA_7, Crest of the Stars, and Noir? I'll find out soon enough, but I'll put them down on my rental que if they aren't that good.
Also does anyone have any favorite movies that it seems like no one else has seen? 3 of mine are the Toxic Avenger, the Tall Guy, and The Adventures of Ford Fairlane.

I've got a feeling that war of the worlds will be like Independence Day - too much bloody build-up... yawn...

Seen the first showing of Resident Evil: Apocalypse on Friday. I rather enjoyed it too; I think having never seen the games may have helped with this. Although, from some friends who went with me, that have played the game, they said it was a good movie as well.
I await the sequel, whenever that'll be.

I'm really looking forward to Constantine! According to the critics a great piece of fantasy/action cinema... can't wait! Has anyone around here already seen it?

Batman looked cool and had some great acting performances. Unfortunately, Tim Burton's movies are always short on substance and Batman is no exception. As much as I liked it, I'd still rather watch the new cartoons or even Batman Beyond.

I saw Collateral a few weeks back. I'm being lazy and can't be bothered going through the thread to see if it's already been mentioned. But it's bonza! It's a really really good movie.
And on Saturday i watched Ghostbusters ..... AGAIN! I will never be sick of that film.

Anyway, lemme think about the movies I've seen lately...
Iron Will - If you've seen one Disney adventure flick, you've seen this one. Except this one's worse.
Reservoir Dogs: Ten Years DVD - I got this for 16$!?! This is the most loaded DVD ever (well almost) for one of the best films of the past ten or twenty years.
Neon Genesis Evangelion - Pretty good anime.
Akira- Pretty fookin' awesome anime.

I'd seen previews for that, Rodeo. It looks awesome.

I found a cool new anime called Rahxephon. It's similar to Neon Genesis, but the characters and the animation are a lot more interesting. I'm in the minority in not really getting into NG, but Rahxephon is my new favorite series.
Key Metal Idol isn't bad either. It's a about a robot seaking to become human. It's one of the best series I've seen, it's just not quite my thing and pales in comparison to the slightly similar Serial Experiment Lain.

I saw "Sin City" this weekend. Super violent, very stylish and I didn't like it. Course, I don't like comic books in the first place, so it was rather a given that I wouldn't like it. Violence for the sake of violence isn't something I really dig.

It's too bad Affleck broke up with Lopez, because Gigli 2 would be perfect for his unique talents.
