Final draft of my submission now nearing completion! It is pushing it a little in the word count at just shy of 7000 words but I should be ready to submit after a little more polish. Hope we get a good number of entries guys, there's still loads of time!

Anyone know how many entries we are looking at for this?

At least five, I'd hope. Me and Bauchelain already have our submissions in, and from this thread (just skimming through this page) I see Yellow, Dolmen, Grimhilde, Mappo, and I know Shinrei was going to have an entry...
Should be plenty.

I'm struggling with sticking with an idea too...I've got about three ideas bouncing around in my head and whenever I start the intro I think of something cool I can attach to my other idea.

I'm starting to panic a little! I'm only about half way through so far, have been busy on other projects.
@Anyone who thinks there is still loads of time and they'll get to it later... start soon! It would be good if everyone who planned to enter gets something finished in time

Hey, is it alright if we do this for a competition, and hand it in before? Because there is a short story comp at my uni around october/november and I was wondering if submissions intended for competitions are allowed. It says you can't submit works intended for publication in the OP, but I am unsure as to whether submitting it into a short story comp counts as publication.

Hey sack, (mind if I call you sack?), that's fine. Basically the whole idea is to make any story that is undergoing a 3rd party editing process ineligible. That doesn't apply to any other contests to which you might submit the work.

Yeah, it isn't being edited by a 3rd-party. Awesome, thanks Shin!

Holy shit. 1172 here and I'm already nearing the grand finale... I'll have to go Murakami style in description of sounds and movements to do get close to the mark or make up a few scenes in between. Then again, the whole thing this is a part of was more or less intended to be once, when I have the time and mad skillz, drawn into a graphic novel...
