Are you sure? Because I just noticed that I've somehow gone from 4400 - (extra stuff) in my first equation to (4000 - extra stuff) in the next one...so the answer should have been $2300...

Five youngsters entered a contest to guess how many marbles were in a bowl. Alice guessed 45, Betty guessed 39, Chuck guessed 49, Dan guessed 50, and Ed guessed 47. One was off by 6, one by 5, one by 2, and one by 4. One was right.

You are trapped in a room with two doors. One leads to freedom the other to doom. Guarding you nad the doors are two men. One who speaks only the truth and one who speaks only lies. How can you determine which door leads to safety with only one question?

You say 'what would the other person say about the left door'.

Edit for explanation:
If the left door lead to freedom, then the truthteller would say the other person would say it would lead to death, and the liar would say the truthteller would say it would lead to death.

So, you do opposite of what they say.

 Don't feel so ignored :(.

I'll see if I can find a conundrum or two to pose, hang on a minute or two.

Trapped in a room
Are 7 men
Holding 7 keys
To Seven doors
3 tell lies
3 tell truth
The one that you want tells both.
Seven questions you can spare.
To find out who he is and where.

What are your questions? Note that you can't direct a single question at everybody (that would be cheating), and that each man holds the key to the door he is standing next to.

I cant think of one question you could ask them all and get it (not that there isnt one). Maybe you have to ask one of them something and then ask the others about his answer?

You don't have to ask the same question to each person, remember.

Here's a tricky one (I hope)

What is too much for one, enough for two, and nothing to three?

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.
