Yep, that's right Assly (since you got it right, I can hardly use Fluffail...).
I'll look for another one a bit later unless someone else puts one up.

Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

Never mind, I found a suitable one:
One train leaves Los Angeles at 20mph heading for New York. Another train leaves from New York at 30mph heading for Los Angeles on the same track. The distance between LA and NY is about 5000 miles. If a bird, flying at 40mph, leaves from Los Angeles at the same time as the train and flies back and forth between the two trains until they collide, how far will the bird have traveled?
EDIT: Changed the numbers a little.

the answer is:
far.
also, that train would take 250 hours to get to NYC.
how the hell does the train company stay in business?
far.

They deviously infected the country with a bacteria that eats tarmac, thereby destroying all the roads, and worsening atmospheric conditions due to global warming have forced all non-essential cross continental US flights to be grounded for the near future, leaving them without any major competitors

Correct. You can just work out how long the bird will be flying for (100 hours) and then multiply that by its speed.
Your turn to post a riddle then, ED.

Twas in heaven pronounced, 'twas muttered in hell, and echo caught faintly the sound as it fell. On the confines of earth it was permitted to rest, and in the depths of its presence there was confessed.

Easy - it's not a triangle if you calculate the space it takes up using the two sides (half the space of a rectangle with the same length and width) and compare it to the space each individually coloured piece takes up - the difference is exactly 0.5 squares. The diagonal side is arced up* in the upper one and down in the lower one by half a square in each so the sum makes up for the blank square when the red and the dark green piece are switched around.
Moreover the lower left angle of the pieces mentioned above cannot be the same when the red has sides of 3/8 and the dark green is 2/5. The coeficient of the angles is respectively 0.375 and 0.4 which creates the difference.
Here you go - two different explanations.
PP: I solved that one during a boring chemistry class when i was 17 (will be 22 in October this year). It's part of the reason why I have to revise now to prepare for the fourth attempt to take my chem exam in uni.
*The two pieces mentioned are indeed triangles but the whole figure is not.
