Some disappointment during the weekend, though nothing I didn't already anticipate. At least now I'm certain.
However, it was the first time I was ever jealous of someone's young age, and the carefree attitude that comes with it. I do not like feeling jealous.
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

Hey, that's not the worst that could happen... last summer when I must've eaten something funny, I threw up for a day and a half every hour or so. Must've been quite extreme, too, as I've a rather resilient stomach.

As I posted the other day my laptop and ipod were robbed while I was out. Turned out the thief also stole my USB stick with all my notes and essays/dissertation on it. Ive tried to report 'extenuating circumstances' to my lecturers but tbh I got the impression me losing my laptop and notes and electronic copy of such notes wont effect my mark, as the lecturers dont seem that bothered. Ah well nothing to be done for it I suppose and luckily only for my last exam. Yet Its still gonna affect my grade.

The power has gone out three times today and I have work tomorrow, so I'm well behind in my preparations. The wind and rain are awful and part of a tree has fallen on the garage. Ah, Scottish summers, predictably shite. It means that tomorrow we will have wet and miserable tourists wanting to know what they can do indoors, which is not much.

I learned today that there is an organisation called the "Global Harmonization Task Force". I hoped it might be a league of superheroes but it's actually a voluntary organisation with the aim "to achieve greater uniformity between national medical device regulatory system". Or at least that's what they want us to think!! Reality is so dull :D
