Taking care of my drunken gf.

I love the woman. I'm marrying her next summer and she's the best thing thats ever happened to me.

But, by god, she's a TERRIBLE drunk.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

11 hour flight to San Francisco tomorrow. I have to put up with an 8hr time difference to stay 4 nights and then fly all the way back to land on Saturday and miss half of my weekend due to business travel and then back to work on Monday. Bloody gits! I'm turning into a sell out. I have a Blackberry, I'm a member of the British Airways Executive Club, I'm using phrases like "front loading", "contingency planning" and "mitigation strategies". I wanna be an academic bum again :(

I happen to be dating a woman who's on the small side and has zero alcohol tolerance whatsoever. Seriously, one and a half mixed drinks and she's got serious equilibrium problems. Anymore than that, she's not going to remember anything and she gets real, real stubborn about things that aren't very logical to a person not within her skull. She's still hilarious though.

I feel for you.

I feel for you as well, my ex was the same way. 1 drink - can't walk straight. 2 drinks - on the floor singing 'I'm On A Boat'. It was both annoying and hilarious at the same time.

Jetlag. Or trying to beat it. My body thinks it is 6am. I need to feel like it's 10pm. On the plus side, I had an upgrade to business class!

Boys let themselves down at training tonight. You'd think, seeing as we're in the shit, they'd pick things up, but...

Was just approaching the end of Mieville's "The Scar" when I discovered that there are 50 pages in Mr. B's copy of the book missing - exactly at the point where the plot gets veeeery dramatic. :)
The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.

Hah yep, that's the one. She failed though, which is what matters.

^^^ I am a newbie and don't know you, but CONGRATULATIONS for not giving in. You are a hero.

I've told my boyfriend that if I somehow end up reading Twilight, even under duress, or for any reason at all, it means that something is terribly wrong (like I've lost my mind or been possessed), and he should shoot me. And for safety's sake incinerate my corpse. You can't be too careful.

OK so what's throwing off my groove is the fact that I have a whole perfectly good bottle of delicious wine here, and I would like to drink it all, but I agreed to do some stupid diet thing with my stupid friend so if I do I'll feel guilty for letting her down because it seems dishonest. Even though I am already very small and do not need to lose any weight and I just did it to support her. WHAT.

Another bubble of hope among what has mostly been the unremitting river of shit we like to call Gen Y. Thanks and welcome. :)

Since when did going on a sympathy diet equate to an alcohol ban? False pretenses I say! There's nothing to say you can't still eat healthy while you have the occasional drink - might even reduce the hangovers a bit ... ? :)

I agree on the diet, I have now lost 19.5kg, by just mostly eating healthy but still enjoying wine, chips etc when I want to.

I am also Gen Y you know Sombra..... it shames me :)

What is this "cold" of which you speak? :Mods:

EDIT: in other news, after having no time to spend with my Mum on the weekend after my unit fucked me over so royally, my boss gave me Tuesday off, so I was able to actually spend a whole day with her, which was great. I took her to see the Karate Kid reboot (which wasn't bad, actually and she thoroughly enjoyed) before I took her to the airport, as her broom was out of commission. :)

Saturday guard was a complete clusterfuck due to my unit's inability to run a pissup in a brewery (and you'd think army people could manage that, but nooooooo ...) and I spent all of saturday night dealing with the drunken fallout. Not pretty at all, especially cleaning up after guys so drunk they couldn't walk or talk, who then pissed the bed we put them in. Don't let anyone ever tell you mopping up urine is honourable work. :D
