My groove is messed with by the temperatures in my house.

My goddamn dvd player is playing up.
I got a copy of Unforgiven the other day - it wouldn't play, so I've now got another one. Which also won't play (it won't read it properly, it just searches)
So I try a few others out of the collection, and hey, Iron Man is all distorted and weird. Check a few more, and they're ok. Put Iron Man in again - now it works!
Unforgiven still doesn't though, and now I don't know if it's the player or the dvd!
I've got a load of time off, Firefly is in the post, and now I've got an unreliable dvd player which I only got in January, but I just know i won't be able to find the reciept for.
Grr.

Can't seem to shake this feeling of dizziness I have. It started last night and doesn't seem to want to go away. Making reading difficult. It would have to strike on the first relatively dry day off I've had in two weeks.

My PC starts bleating out alarms whenever I run something other than iTunes and/or Chrome. I bet it is room temperature related.

I just had a shitty week being in charge while the boss was on leave. Everyone with higher rank that the boss would normally tell to fuck off took advantage of his absence and basically asked for the moon ... yesterday. I've been told a number of times I can refuse as it's my job and my boss' boss would back me blah blah blah ... but I also live in the real world and have no interest in having warrant officers and commissioned officers mad at me and remembering it later on. Which is basically how the army (and the real world) works. So I have been smashing down the headache/muscle relaxant tablets every night just to get to sleep, with mixed results.
On the plus side it has gone quickly - even the multiple 12+ hour days in a row - and we managed to pull a few minor miracles out of our arses to keep the heat off.
I have already texted my boss to tell him he is never, ever allowed to go on leave again.
But do you know the WORST thing? The World Cup final is on at the extremely uncivilised time of 0400 Monday morning. That's 4am for you dirty stinking civvies.
I'm hoping Paul got it wrong for once - go the Dutch!
