Another complaint about work:
Things are going well. My territory is a good one and the POs are coming in.
However as my lease in Philadelphia comes to an end I brought up that they originally wanted me in Boston and now was a good time to make that change. They have however changed their minds. Which sucks because beyond I think being good for me professionally I think Boston would be an improvement for me personally. I know people there. Otherwise between covid and all the travel I do for work it’s been hard to put down roots.
So NYC and NY state obviously are now my terroritory, so I’m trying to see if they will support me in a move to NY. Things don’t look too promising though.
I made the best choice I had 8 months ago, but now I really regret not just going to Boston back then.

Less serious complaint. My whole time in the USA has been covid and now inflation/supply issue. So I do t know what’s normal.
I don’t ever seem to go to a store and see empty shelves but I try to get groceries delivered and can never get what I want.

If NYC and NY are your territory, but you want to be closer to Boston, would you consider living in CT? There's train options to go into the city and up to Boston pretty quickly. There's also the "slightly cheaper" aspect of living there instead of actually in NYC or Boston.

I’m from CT and love it there, but it is much more suburban. I’d probably just bite the bullet and pay for the move to Boston or NY yourself.

Do you have more info on what type of orthotics they got? There's a lot of information out there, and a lot of it is contradictory and scammy.
I'm planning to go see someone, but want to be prepared for any potential upsells or profit-over-patient practices.

Best friend just went with her regular dentist and custom made mouth guard. The regular dentist generally doesn't have an interest in screwing you for a few bucks.

Dont care about the moving costs, I care about the cost of living adjustment.

My dentist told me to consider a mouthguard, I feel American dentists offer more treatment than a south african dentist ever would. Makes me question them. I chipped my tooth because I fell asleep on a plane and was jolted awake.

David Warner passed away.
I haven't seen a lot of his acting work (Star Trek aside - his turn as Gul Madred in TNG is chilling) but there are huge parts of his voice acting as Jon Irenicus in Baldur's Gate 2 I can quote verbatim to this day because the performance had so much impact - it's still a high watermark for me in game voice acting. RIP.

Yeah, super sad, and yeah his role in the 'Four Lights' ep of TNG is so iconic to me.

He was Ra's al Ghul on Batman: TAS, a standout on maybe the most stacked animated show in history. I imagine if you're both an actor and a nerd, he probably had the ideal career.

Bernard Cribbins died today. Fuck.
93, but still. Hell of an actor and sounds like such an amazing man.

My trainer, who I saw unmasked a few days ago and we touched most of the same surfaces, probably has monkeypox. It's unlikely I got it, but still...

My son and I are staying with my mum for a few days so she can see him over the summer holidays. She's 72. Do all old people have a strict routine that can't be broken?! Toilet times, breakfast routine, food habits. Literally NOTHING is done on a whim. Combine that with my 6 year olds necessities - kids get hangry - and my mums 85 year old partner and his routine and I'm an absolute slave to other peoples bodies. I'm going to have to think hard about whether to use my allotted 30 seconds in the bathroom tomorrow for a wash or a poo!
