Went back to the shop. Forgot my receipt.
Couldn't give the wrong ones back and still couldn't find the right ones. So I've been to the shop twice in one day and still have 4 wrong bulbs. Goddamnit.

For some reason I'm not reading as much as I used to. This makes me sad. My to read pile is getting epic though
I haven't read a book in about 2 years :(Messing with my groove (apart from realising the above) is that EVERY SINGLE TIME I need to buy lightbulbs I get the wrong fecking ones. Most of the time I get time to return them and get the right ones but we have a drawer full of loads of odd lightbulbs that don't fit any of our lights. Today I got 4 that are wrong. I even took the right bulb with me to compare against the ones I was buying. I got the correct fit, correct size, correct wattage. They aren't bloody dimmable!!!! RAAAAAGE. I need to go back out in the snow later to exchange them because we are down to one functioning bulb in our lounge despite having 7 vacant slots!! I have in the past exchanged the wrong bulbs for other different wrong bulbs so I hope it isn't one of those times.

First up Mez, buy LED bulbs. If you're changing more than one bulb a year there's something wrong. 7 absent bulbs in a single room is awful lighting conditions to be living in.

Secondly, buy those LED bulbs online. Search for online led bulb shops, most if not all will let you filter buy connection, light colour, dimmability etc. They also have a much bigger range than pretty much any store you can go to and it'll be delivered to you. Compare across one or two shops then check for those same bulbs on places like Amazon if you do Prime.

Messing with my groove? The baby-wee that somehow permeated through nappy and baby grows etc to reach me. For the second time today. Slightly better than the surprise poo-cannon near miss yesterday, but even so.

Edit: Also messing: no baby-screenings of the new Star Wars round us. Literally no cinema within an hours drive does them for any film. WTF?

Your common sense suggestions won't cut it in this house miladdo.

1 It's always a last minute thing when we are living in near darkness and there is no time even for next day delivery.

2 We have exceptionally dodgy electrics in our lounge which is the room we go through them quickest. One of the sockets blows the whole house if we plug a bulb into it.

3 I've tried LED and got the wrong ones of those too. So fuck it all to hell.

I'm just moving all of the lamps in the house into the lounge until it somehow all works out.

Enjoy these years of your life where you are mostly always covered in human effluent.

I'm amazed that Trump can get away with having made an AUTOCALL that was sent out to people to vote for Moore over the Dem.

Their intentions may be good but they're just too dumb to get it right.

I sympathise, our living room lights don't work as the dimmer switch is fucked and I can't get a new one until Thursday. The bulbs are ok - since I found a department store in town which has everything, including a woman I know only as 'the lightbulb lady' as you walk in with one and she'll find a replacement for it.

Luckily we now have Christmas lights up, which will do until I try to kill myself trying to wire up a new dimmer switch.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Dipshit kids throwing snowballs at my house (the same ones who set off a firework just outside my door no doubt) and then chucking more at moving vehicles further up near the main road. Surprise surprise, the cowards ran as fast as they could when confronted. Just as well, really. Gothos doesn't like to be disturbed.

Trying the whole "Having female friends thing" since becoming one of those mother types. Went out tonight and we got to discussing movies (it's come up before, they won't see much with me) and got onto the bottom line of "Whatever you think about Princess Leia, she's cool". They disagreed. I'm not sure there is any way back from this???

Were they able to articulate their feelings. So when the judge asks why you did it you can explain

This. And yes, in this I think Nico is on the same page as everyone else for once.

I am surprised only because when I get together with mother types, all we talk about is the silly stuff our kids do. And trade cooking secrets. And complain about how expensive child care is. I don't think we ever get around to movies. Well, for a while, I was watching Frozen twice a day, but now it's all about Paw Patrol
