It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

Recently I believe my metabolism took a dive when I reached my late 20's. I was expecting it as everyone had always warned me eventually it happens to us guys. So I put on some weight very quickly 3 years ago roughly getting to 220! Some other factors were in there like my dad passing, which was very tough to take. I roughly I gained 40-50 pounds and kept it for some time now. I had always been a healthy person running daily and lifting throughout college, just some bullshit got me down in life.
Well After about the last 9 months of dieting and getting running/working out hard core I am back down to 185!!! I am back up to running 3 miles/4 times a week. My goal is 8 miles like in college. My knees can't quite handle running daily anymore like they used too-bummer!
Still Estatic when I starting working out, I thought I totally messed myself up. I was soooo angry, when I barely could make it one lap around the track. That was a WTF moment for me. One lifestyle change that was tough was I drinking ALOT, I have beaten that down. I still enjoy drinking just calmed down on it.
Goal:175 in three months keeping my gains from lifting, which is going to be tough!

I managed to pull out "one puch knockout" at wing chun training n sparring... OK, after that, I was beaten by far more superior mate and everything hurts now, but...

I love my job.
Just finished a 2 hour training session, where trainees call us supervisors to make mock calls.
I went in with a pretty bad hangover still (see the bitching thread for details of my night), and after 2 hours of talking, listening trainees go through their scripts and giving feedback, I feel nearly sober. and it's only 2 PM, leaving me a with a nearly full day to start on my monster "to-do" list for the weekend.
if I didn't have this training session, i'd probably not have crawled out of bed untill 6 or 7 PM. and now my mind is clear, though i'm still dealing with the physical aftereffects of extensive overconsumption
EDIT: and my winamp's shuffle is hitting all the awesome, upbeat rock songs. this might actually turn out to be a good day.

Spending time with my boy for the first time in a month. His cuddles make any bad from my week melt away.
