woke up at 1:30 today. I love having no classes.
also, finally got the huge pile of laundry that needed ironing done. My room is starting to look inhabitable again.
now, all I need to do is get the exam shopping done, to ensure I have enough food to sustain me for two weeks, and I'm ready to get down to actual studying. And since i'm well aware of the scope of the material that needs o be learned, i'm fairly confident I can get it done efficiently.

the malazan that told me to try Vegemite, cheese and bacon.... YUM! But I don't remember which one it was as there were a couple of Vegemite and bacon combinations I was supposed to try.... and I don't remember the other one!
I'm going to claim credit for this one although I'm fairly sure I would have said Marmite not Vegemite.

Just finished translating the Student Association of Agder's new web site, a brick load of work, and I'll hopefully get paid in time to buy Christmas presents. I've also finished a epic time-consuming Malazan painting, which I'll get money and a copy of Stonewielder for. I've gotten lots of compliments for the dress I'm wearing today, made it myself no less, and I'm going to Amsterdam tomorrow!

Originally I read that as you received many complaints about your dress, at which point I was confused. Maybe you enjoyed tearing them limb from limb for daring to insult your dress, and that blood spatter was just the right shade of red, I dunno. Now it makes more sense.
Will we get to see this epic Malazan painting? I wish I could get paid in Stonewielder too.

ha, that would be more fitting for a Grimmybear, wouldn't it? But no, it was compliments, so no limb-tearing today..but there's always next week
Yes, you can expect it in a Malazan Art forum near you, as soon as I get the green light from the fellow who commissioned it. I just hope you guys like it as well...for some reason, what you guys think of my malazan art really means a lot to me

Now, that city is a clear waste of your time
Assuming you haven't been there before: the red light district is nothing special despite its rep. Don't waste your time there, nor your money on the Bulldog (the most famous hash bar - if you do want to go to a coffee shop, ask your hotel/hostel manager/desk person for a recommendation).
Try and get a native dutch cabby if you absolutely have to take one, but cab-drivers are generally the scum of the earth in Amsterdam.
Quick word of advise where it concerns drinks: don't go the Leidseplein or Rembrandtplein. Yes, all the tourists go to the cafetaria or pubs there, but you pay way too much for a beer and both staff and clientèle suck balls.
I can personally recommend going to the Irish pub at the Max Euweplein (Aran, which has decent food as well at not too high a price) or visiting the Tara Irish Pub on the Rokin (expensive but awesome, plus you can walk it easily from the station, basically just a straight line). If you want something more quiet and authentic, go to 't Arendsnest (Herengracht 90). It is located on one of the canals and the view over the water is fantastic.

Just got back from a week in Devon with two mates. Within 5 minutes of my first pint in Ilfracombe some local nutter starts on me. Tried to be nice and quiet and defuse the situation but he then attacked me. I pushed him away(at no point throwing a punch) he fell over a bar stool and smacked his head on the pool table. I think "shit I'm going down for manslaughter and I've been here five minutes". Luckily a coachload of Bristol City fans had turned up and one of them saw what happened. Nutter survived, the Old Bill carted him off and thanks to the City fans I could enjoy the rest of my week off. I'm a Gooner, but I'll always have a soft spot for Bristol City from now on....

There's no such thing as too much cleavage.
