Due to having to be on call for work and expensive flights, I'll be staying home for 2 weeks over Xmas-NY while the family go down south.

The gf got me Gardens of the Moon for my birthday. It will be a while before I dive into it (reading another series right now and I wouldn't want to lose track), but that's pretty great - haven't read that book in at least 6-7 years since my copy never made it back from someone I lent it to.

It might have the american cover, but it's the thought that counts!

My boss bought me a set of Glenfiddich whisky samplers for Christmas - a 12, a 15 and an 18. I've never tried the 18 year old before, so I'm intrigued, but I suspect they shall all be amusing.

I found the 18 to have quite a harsh taste (if I recall correctly) compared to the smoother 15...
