Decided I'm going to play flamenco guitar properly rather than just screwing around with the phrygian mode on a classical guitar. An hour later I have a lovely blister on my thumb to show for my efforts. I'm very proud :D

at the moment I'm learning some proper strumming patterns and finger picking exercises. Being more of a mandolin player finger picking is a definite weakness for me, so thats taking a bit longer than the badass rhythms associated with flamenco are :p

Meet the parents day, both ways. Might seem odd putting it here and not the groove messing, but it's a much overdue confirmation of the status quo, and it'd be good to have it done sooner rather than later.

I'm guessing the style you've picked up seems to complement flamenco. If you'd picked up polar opposite skills then it would be harder. As it is, I'd rather learn fingerpicking at this late stage than rythym if you know what I mean. Then again I do like to finger pick.


That's what's making me happy in fact.
Been playing some good bluegrass licks today inbetween sleeping sessions.

One of these days, I would like to learn to dance flamenco.

So it's that time of the year again and Love Actually is on TV. The first time I saw it, I was waiting around to see how all the stories were supposed to come together at the end and they never did, so I didn't really get it. But now, every time I see it, I like it even more. It warms the cockles of my normally cold, cynical, and now broken, heart.

Well I see what your saying. That's all very nice n all, but I own 2 acoustic guitars, a ukulele and a banjolele. So I think were a bit different with regards to taste. Haha
I suppose we could compare picks and strings?

In topic. I've got 2 shifts left this weekend then 3 next weekend then I'm off till the 10th jan.
A bit early to start the count down I know, but it's exciting all the same.
