Just saw it. I was going to make a thread just to discuss it now that it's out, but the movie doesn't deserve it. DO NOT GO SEE THIS PIECE OF SHIT IN THE THEATER! Worse than wolverine, worse than T3, worse than freaking about anything. Truly awful. It's late, so I'm not going into detail right now, but please trust me, do not watch this movie. I haven't sen a movie in the theater this bad since Pootie Tang. Waste of time, waste of film, waste of money. If you need your scifi fix, go see Star Trek again. Horrible, bad, bad movie.

This is John Conner, ruining a franchise.

Holy Fuck. That bad?

Well, I know RLY saw this post, so I can only assume he agreed. Evidently Terminator Salvation SUCKS.

Goodnight RLY and a well deserved, soft burial to the Terminator Series. Taps playing as music, and a solid eulogy given by somebody other than me. Adieu.

The reviews have been anything but kind. Every one that I've read call it atrocious.

Ok, back online, got called in to work. let me repeat myself. This movie is unbelievably bad. The first half hour or so it wasn't so bad, I was just excited to be watching a Terminator movie. It slowly started dawning on me though that it wasn't very good. It then proceeded to get exponentially worse with every minute. This is one of the most poorly written scripts I have ever witnessed. The cinematography was odd and off-putting, the dialogue was wooden and cheesy, the special effects were crap for the most part, makeup was a joke, continuity from the first 3 was screwed with, nods back to the old movies were cheesy and overdone, the plot was absurd (even for sci-fi), the cliches ran wild and as free as the birds, plot holes you could drive your mom through, Christian Bale had an emotional scale of 1 emotion (that emotion was batman), fun stuff like violence and nudity were either underdeveloped or not there at all due to the pg-13 rating, it was really bad.

This is coming from someone who wanted nothing more than for this movie to be awesome. It wasn't. A perfect example of how not to reboot a franchise. The Terminator show is better. Just about everything ever put on film is better. I saw this for free and still felt I was owed money back at the end. Crap, crap, dirty stinking mean movie. I hate you.

@HD: Yes, it is really that bad. I literally would rather watch Pootie Tang again before this. There is literally 20 seconds of redeemable movie in this turd. Look in the spoiler box if you want to know the only decent thing about the movie, and then you won't have to go.

Oh, that spoiler is kind of cool. Really, once I heard McG was directing my expectations went down the drain anyway. I had a little hope Bale would work his magic, but apparently that is not the case.

I just posted in the other thread, I can't believe this !

I saw some trailers and thought it looked pretty good, combined with Bale ( who is good in most things he's in ) and the fact that the Terminator "franchise" is bordering on royalty I cannot believe they have fucked it.

Saying that though my spidey sense started tingling when I saw the rating they had given it.

Bollocks, I was really looking forward to this. :p

imdb it. Pootie Tang is indeed a piece of shit. I don't remember the exact circumstances under which I saw it in the theater. I believe it might have had something with a girl wanting to see it.

Just saw and thought it was pretty good. Not great but with loads of winks and nods to the previous films that left me smiling.

saw it today and i was disappointed by the movie. I guess i set my expectations to high for this movie, and was let down by it. By the end of the movie i had to pee so bad, i was sitting next to a friend who saw it yesterday, and asked him if it was almost over lol, because it was too long imo, some parts could have been left out.
Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.

Not trying to argue, as it's a matter of taste, but in my opinion the nods at the old movies were poorly done. They felt shoehorned in, and fell flat in most cases. Some of the "nods" actually directly contradicted the old movies. Like

Saw this yesterday. Should be called Terminator: Suckvation. At least Christian Bale managed to not sound constipated in this film. And however they comped in young Ahnold was seamless. Other than that the movie was dumb from start to finish.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.
