So I finished SQUID GAME and it's definitely worth the hype. What an insane, violent and truly human story that is. Tiniest bit frustrated by the ending but I think it was to leave room for further exploration of the story but I read somewhere the director wasn't planning on making a second season so I dunno.

Utterly enthralling drama!

I just watched ep 4 and 5. Hadn't seen the earlier ones. Mr PigDog is watching it and I was working in front of the tv. I don't feel well now. That kind of thing always makes me reflect too deeply on how I might react in that kind of situation and it's...unsettling!

Season 1 of Snowpiercer was solid. Curious to see where they go with season 2.

Watched a few episodes of Squid Game last night, I'm hooked.

Wife wants to start White Lotus tonight, we'll see how it goes.

Anyone watch Banshee? It was a Cinemax show, its on HBOMax now. Thought it looked promising.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

I'm halfway into White Lotus right now. As with Enlightened (but even more so), it's a very sharp satire about people I don't generally want to spend any time with...so it took a couple eps to get over that hump just on faith in the writing & acting, but I'm there now.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Don't know much about the show Friends, but thought about giving some of the episodes a try. I guess shows like it and Seinfeld are getting a work over and being put through the woke meat grinder because of how unrepresentative they are and how problematic many of the episodes are in a post post <insert movement name here>. I'm not too bothered personally. 90s shows are probably going to have some parts that don't age well. Anyway, about Friends, why does the title of each episode start with "The one that ..." or "The one which ..."? Is there a backstory or a deeper reason for that? Or is it just a thing the writers decided to make stick out of some kind of serendipity?

Yes it made me think quite a bit.

It also made me consider that this is absolutely what super rich people would do, given half the chance...

We had a few people on the forum watch it while it was airing. It's very good, but very violent. But lord, those fight scenes are incredibly choreographed.

Finished the second half of Ted Lasso season 2.
Very good of course, but a little more complicated and ... darker (?)... than season 1. Which makes it more interesting.

Cannot wait for season 3.

What We Do in the Shadows. The Vampiric Council HR company/employee code of conduct video should be universal across all industries - "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law." That's it, end of video. Posted Image

First look of Gwendolyn Christie as Lucifer in The Sandman and I've got to say I'm liking it.

Gosh darnit, What We Do in the Shadows did it again. The brilliant comedy is ridiculous. This time the situation was the appearance of actor Scott Bakula on the show (playing himself obviously), who they were calling "Count Bakula" and asking him questions about his roots in Transylvania.

It's okay, but the fact that Lucifer was always intended to be David Bowie means it's hard for me to separate the existing comics and Gaiman's intent from the new faces...still, she looks good.

I didn't know that but I think she's a good enough actress to carry the role and they've done well with the genderless but striking thing that Lucifer is meant to have.

Oh she's a GREAT actress, and I can't wait to see her in the role for sure.

This works for me. She has the right look and scope for a character who has to be very ambivalent on multiple levels.
