Ok, I normally don't give something a 'strong' recommendation, but I just finished watching season 2 of Atlanta ("Robbin' Season"), and it is so very excellent. I would say it's better then season 1 (if that is possible). Season 2 builds from season 1 and just expands the awesomeness from there. The episodes "Teddy Perkins" and "FUBU" have to be seen. Oh and that line about Florida Man - the alt-right Johnny Appleseed, had me rolling. Watch Atlanta if it pops up on your favorite streaming service, you won't be disappointed.

Agreed (and both seasons are now on Hulu, at least in the US, for anyone who wants to watch). My faves were 'Helen', 'Barbershop', and 'Woods' but really the whole season was firing on all cylinders.

On another note, I watched all of Fleabag last week (only 12 eps for the whole thing) and it was essentially perfect. That fourth wall thing Phoebe Waller Bridge does on this show is SO easy to get wrong -- in quantity, quality, purpose, or tone -- but she absolutely nails it. It's not a huge cast, but every performance is great (with yet another showcase for Olivia Colman's vast gifts), and it's both lol funny and heartbreaky in turns.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

'The Chernobyl Museum’s deputy director, Anna Korolevskaya, was one of the consultants for the HBO miniseries [...]

But when the TV miniseries came out and she began to watch, Korolevskaya says she was overwhelmed with emotions. “I could not sleep that night, after I finished viewing the series; I could foresee the avalanche of emotions, bitter and angry comments from victims and their families about the untrue facts in the series,” Korolevskaya said.

“See, most of the names in the film are real, that’s why the viewers here watch it as a documentary and not as a fictional movie.”'

Similar to my experience with the Lethal Weapons TV-show, I'm watching the remake of Magnum PI, and I'm appalled.

This guy has none of the charm of Tom Selleck! HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A MUSTACHE!

I'm convinced the entire premise of season 2 will be Magnum growing a moustache.

Finished THE TERROR. Stunning from start to finish. And I like that they changed up the epilogue ending a bit.

It also prompted me to find out that the actress who played Lady Silence, is Greenland native Nive Nielsen...and it turns out that she is a musician and has a solidly great album!

You've reminded me that I've been meaning to, eventually, read Dan Simmons The Abominable and The Terror. I love Simmons but the book descriptions just struck me as being a bit too historical fiction and not enough weird sci-fi.

THE TERROR was my first Simmons book, and I adored it. Yes, it's historical, but there is plenty of "story" in there to enjoy as well. It helps that I've always been fascinated by the Erebus and Terror since they wrecked in northern Canada/Nunavut so I heard that story as a kid.

I am waiting for THE ABOMINABLE to be available at the library, so I haven't read it yet, but I expect the tone at least to be similar.

Just over half way through the third season of Jessica Jones and unsure if I'm going to watch the rest.

It's always been my favourite of the now-cancelled Netflix Marvel outings, and I was enjoying this series.... right up to the point that I realised the baddie is every angry Gamergate-esque male on the internet writ large and given psychopathic murderous tendencies. Yes, I realise it's deliberate and he's still a clever and compelling adversary.

But..... I lived with an angry misogynistic insecure fuckwit who was into all that. The real thing is not entertaining so it's difficult to watch it. There's plenty of good points to the final series so far (albeit against the usual "it should have been 10 episodes and not 13 complaint you could level at every one of the Netflix series) but it makes uncomfortable viewing for me, which is a shame.

I was worried they'd fuck this up, since the book does ride the line of 'too puerile for me' without ever actually falling off it, but it looks like they've done a good job here. It needs to capture the heart of it and early indications are decent that they have.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

What's this? Reality garbage on History channel that I actually want to see?

I want to watch Eddie Hall lift something absurdly heavy but he's not quite the monster he used to be.

I'm interested to see what 'historical' feats of strength their going to be asked to perform.
