I don't get this. How can you people not believe Brys is at the same level as Dassem and the top seguleh?
Trull, who is also one of the best fighters that were, is in awe over the skill Brys displays in the throneroom. He uses his sword like a god damn scalpel.
Now that he's become a mortal sword I think he's possibly the most dangerous swordfighter out there.

Brys is in my opinion also, the best swordsman around. He pretty much operated on Rhulad!

True that. And to say he's the equal of the Seguleh first is ridiculous.

Even Brood knows Kallor couldnt beat the Segulah first, in fairness, in MoI. "you pick your opponents well. Have you ever crossed blades with... The Segulah first?"

The Whiskeyjack vs Kallor fight did not prove that WJ was the better swordfighter.
Yes, WJ would have spitted Kallor on his sword if his leg hadn't broke, but Kallor wouldn't had been open to that move if he hadn't stumbled at that moment. He stepped on a spearhandle and lost his balance.

Question1: do you think "swordsman" is the criteria required to be a ranked seguleh?
Question2: Can a God be seated in seguleh ranking

Rake is the Seventh, and they are ALL ranked

Then I think the way things work Dassem is equal to thew first.
Why? if a God can Challenge the first then
A)The first can hold his own against a god or
B)The first is a God (well atleast in the eyes of the seguleh...Thats scary good imho)
By the way what if there is a rank above the first? like a rankless seguleh with a pure white mask. :0

The firsts mask is blank. Mok who's the third had two slashes on his mask.
The Second is, as far as we know, the Soldier of Death

We saw the second in tBH. He was undead. Hood's Soldier. I reckon the First probably is an Ascendant, dolmen.

As far as we know, the Soldier of Death is the Seguleh 2nd. At least until proven otherwise. He had the mask.

I quite like Dassem, but I like Brys more.
Remember the fight with Rhulad, he didn't just beat him.
He severed the guys freaking tendons and muscles so he could no longer move. All of them. As said, he performed freaking surgery with a sword.
That would require knowledge of the body like the Segulah have, and a ridiculous amount of control.
I like to think of Brys, Dassem and the First as the best swords man. Followed by Rake and Karsa.
I don't put karsa up there as well I think he is very very good, I just haven't seen anything to put him on the level as the other guys. He is big, strong and quick, but never came of as as deft with a blade as the other.
Same with Rake, that and, his efforts would be focused on magic and sword play, rather than just focusing oin being a great swordsman.

I'd agree, with the addition of Skinner, as he was the only Avowed to walk away from Daseem.
Other personalities like, Rake, Karsa, Tool, have strength/magic/height to go along with their skill level so its a not a valid comparison in my opinion.

Skinner is definitely below Dassem in terms of Swordsmanship.
