Finally got into Michelle West, starting with The Hidden City (I'm now aware this wasn't actually the first book, but I didn't know that when I bought it and hey, some reading lists say it's fine to start). Anyway, it's very good and I'll definitely be reading more.
But I am seriously struggling with suspension of disbelief about the hidden maze of streets and passages lying below the modern city that is a total secret to almost everyone in the city, including the authorities, despite just openly connecting to multiple basements including that of a pub.
Same, I’m in about the last 1/4 of City of Night. I keep thinking there’s going to be a magical explanation why no one but Rath and these few kids ever get down there.
City has been mostly slow for a majority of the book, but it’s really picking go up at the end. -

Saw Inside Out 2 with wife on Saturday gone.
How the heck did a lighthearted kids film so accurately capture an anxiety attack to the point it felt like a personal attack?
Good film overall.
It was damn jarring watching the movie and having the realization of just how much Anxiety, Anger, and Fear run the show as an adult.
