I think TTH is the most literary book within the series, and perhaps due to that it needs time to digest.

I totally agree with you, worry :yes

    Everybody here knows it's Rake.
I have always had a fondness for Dark Lords... And this one is much more a person than Sauron.

Given the fuss about the lack of black characters in GOT and the ones that are on the show either meeting bad endings or being former slaves having immense black characters like Quick Ben, Kalam and Rake etc would be very right on.

I hope they don't whitewash them. Looking at the pictures of Rake out there, he seems more a Nordic god Thor-style than a Tiste Andii. I know midnight black is a tricky color to put on a skin if you want to highlight the features, but I have seen Rake images which made me ask "where is the darkness here?"
  5. In Topic: Genuine criticism: Nearly all the Females in this book are 99%-100% literally the same person

But don't be so hard on the Original Poster! I think he (or she)has a point. At least when I was at MoI I had the impresión that all the female characters but Tattersail were the same. Oh, and there was Envy, of course, who looked so out of place that I was under the impression of I was reading Arthurian lore in the middle of a modern warfare story. This is not a criticism to Erikson, but to myself:you need to read and reread him to catch how much a good writer of characters he is. But there is a hint of true in OP's statement: some female marines are too similar, but I wonder If it is not true about the males. After all, this is a series with loads and loads of characters.
