Well it's time for the US forum members to try getting together. I have been in Super Secret off thread communications with Bent and have decided to put together a campout/cookout for the state side Malazanites.

I thought for the first year a pilgrimage to see the "Groundhog of Shadow" would be a nice way to get this going. ("Punxsutawney Phil" aka the rodent from groundhog day) So I am looking at campgrounds in the Punxsutawney PA area.

I would like this to be family friendly, so forum members that have families with kids can feel safe to bring them. So I am going to ask that drinking be keep to a "pre-Apt posting” level.

If anyone has any questions you can PM me and I will try to get back to you as soon as I can.

We are looking at mid August as a time frame.

Mods sticky please

Hmm.. I'm in Buffalo so a 4 hour drive for moi.

Might be able to talk the wife into it if I club it with some less geeky excursion :D She hasn't read a single Malazan book (and isn't about to) so... hmm. I'd love to attend though

This is the campground I am looking at for the camp out. http://www.camperspa....net/index.html

Looking around there does seem alot to keep the spouse's busy.

Edit: I'm waiting to hear back from the campground people on advance reservations. I.E. when people need to get there shit together and get a site.

Alright, sorry, I'm late on this, work has been hell. I am definately in for the August time frame...I tell my wife, hey, I'm going, you can come if you want, but you can't stop me... After several nights of sleeping on the couch, and begging forgivness, she says I can go! I would also like to thank Bubba in advance for taking point on this, if you need anything let me know BUDDY! (said in a Pauly Shore like voice)

It should be held in north-eastern Maine, so as to be even further away from those in California. You know, for the convenience.

next year Rockies?......

I mean lets face it..the the center of the country is a cornfield....well I like corn(not going to spend 200,000.00 on a cornflake) I don't want to camp in a cornfield. I could not see going much father west this year without going all the way to the Rockies on the hope that maybe people would come. I live in NH and Bent in Tenn. I tried to go west and central and still find some place that would still feel like camping. Knew I could not please everybody for that I am sorry....We live in a big country.

Start one for the west coast........

:D

I have by far the best location. Sunny Southern Cali, oh and the multitudes of hot single women running around in BIKINIS.

I can't say I'll make this meet-up, but I'll definitely look into the possibility.

The Rockies would be nice next year, sort of like "half way" for all of us.

Damn, but this country is huge.

we could invent transporters like on Star Trek....Someone call CF and get him to work on it. Also, people in California there is hope...there is this flying machine called a PLANE, and if you give someone money they take you anywhere you want to go...next year, in the Rockies would be cool, and I will take a PLANE to get there. Ok, so I am being an ass, sorry guys.

August is right in the middle of our busy season, so it will be difficult to get those days off, in addition, I'll be heading towards Atlanta a month before that to see my newborn niece...but hey...i'll give it a shot :D

LOL, you know what I mean. It's close to the continental divide, at least. Any canucks coming? I guess mid-way is somewhere around Kansas or Nebraska...but all those states suck :D
