PERSEPOLIS RISING, The Expanse bk 7. In earbook, thank you audible credit.
Very excited about this, tho tough call whether i will start it or OATHBRINGER next.
Coming off of DEADHOUSE and RED QUEEN'S WAR, i may need some sf to break up the fantasy.

Got all three Dragonlance ELVEN EXILE books (Paul Richard Thompson & Tonya C. Cook) for $3 each at the used bookstore. This is a series I've always wanted to read as it's a spinoff of the War of the Souls series featuring my fave character from that trilogy, Kerianseray the Lioness! I've wanted these since I was a teenager. They are hard to come by...someone must have sold the whole trilogy at once.

Haven't read Blood Meridian, but of the other three, RP1 is long but fairly light and fluffy. MARTIAN is a fast read, not quite as light and fluffy but not that deep either. I enjoyed both for different reasons.
SHOGUN is long'ish and dense. Also, brilliant.
I would slot SHOGUN in between the two sf books.

Book depository has the new edition of "Arcanum Unbounded" on sale for 13 bucks.
I have no intention to rush into "Oathbringer" until it's mmpb, but I DID want to read "The Emperor's Soul" for like forever (and it's still smth ridiculous in stores as a standalone) + Edgedancer and other Cosmere bits.

Did my usual boxing Day/week wandering tour today.
I meant to pick up Scalzi's last Old Man's War book, before it disappears out of print.
But I walked into Chapters, and they're selling all regular books 30% off.
Yeah, I immediately caved. I could be skeptical about Deadhouse Landing for 30 bucks. But 1/3 off? that's a no-brainer.
Also grabbed that 1st book of "Chronicles of the Long War" , The Black Guard which I've been eyeing for quite some time.

Black Library re-released James Swallow's Adeptas Sororitas duo logo as an omnibus called SISTERS OF BATTLE, so I grabbed that today.

Something called BLACK STAR RENEGADES. Utterly unresearched whim buy, but the first pages gave me a TOUR OF THE MERRIMACK meets STAR WARS kind of vibe.

Was in a different part of the City for an after-work event. There's an Indigo there with a good SFF selection. Including being the only place I know that carries Aaronovich.
so I picked up Moon over Soho , the second Peter Grant book. I'll see if this series goes anywhere good.

Payday splurge:
on Kindle, Heroes Die by Stover
finally picked up Scalzi's The End of All things , the next "Old Man's War" book. I've been meaning to grab this before it's sold out for ages, but every time I'd go to grab it, something else would catch my eye and distract me.
'
also ordered 2 more books from Chapters:
1) "Siege Perilous", the last of the ForeWorld novels (so technically the sequel to "Mongoliad"
2) The Lord of the Silent Kingdom by Glen Cook- the second "Instrumentalites of the Night novel, because Cook deserves all the money for this series.

Also, since I was downtown most of the week, took the opportunity to pick up The Temporal Void , BK 2 of Hamilton's Void trilo.
As I've earlier accidentally bought Vol 3 instead of 2, this now means I have the entire trilogy sitting on my shelf, and I'll probably read all of them sometime in the spring.
