CocoReturns is absolutely right: the Krull is the best fantasy weapon ever.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Anyone remember the cartoon Ulysses? He had a light sabre that turned into a lazer gun. I think he had a force field shield as well, although I might have just made that up.
Sauron's mace from tLotR film, and the Witch King's ball and chain. They were BIG.

That scene were Sauron swings the mace and sends dozens of warriors flying is one of the coolest scenes in fantasy or war ever.

Or the one Bastila Shan wields in Knights of the Old Republic....because her's was a staff, unlike Mauls which breaks into two separate lightsabers cause he based his build on the first double bladed one built thousands of years before by Exar Kun.

From Tolkien:
Anglachel (Turin's sentient black sword)
Grond (Morgoth's Hammer--probably what Sauron's mace was based on)
Sting!

If we are open to scifi, and video games, I just got to say the BFG from the Doom games (pick any one) is pretty damn effective. Plus it is so wonderfully monikered.
Also, I always liked the Super Nailgun in quake 1
EDIT: Fixed an embarassing slip-up

I think you mean Doom.
And on the subject of Doom, the Berzerker Pack is the best weapon. YOU ARE HUGE! THAT MEANS YOU HAVE HUGE GUTS! RIP AND TEAR! RIP AND TEAR YOUR GUTS! RIP AND TEAR
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I meant that to say what it says now...

I don't know if there's secret versions of Doom with other weapons than the original ones from Doom 1 and 2 but nailguns are from Quake.

Er, he didn't change the nailgun bit, it still says Quake 1.

My denigrator and defender!

"Denigrator" would be a cool name for a weapon right?
A gun that sends a huge poof of sooty smoke at someone...
Hmm...

I would have thought, 'de-ni-grator', that it'd take off your kneecaps with a cheesegrater. Which would chafe.

Bricks are always a good weapon; all you need is your fists, a brick, a flame thrower, a extinguisher and a monkey gun and you're set for a lot of fun.
In actual fact if we do include games, the remote mines on timesplitters 2 are legendary. Mix it with the mapmaker and you could create some of the most fun situations in gaming history. Do remote mines only, elimination on hospital or the same again but in a custom map with lots of obstacles and completely dark lightning so you can only see the flashing of the remote mines. Genius.
Apt, good signature.

The spinfusor from the starsiege tribes series of games has to be one of the best gaming weapons.
A slow moving blue disc of death which explodes on impact, the problem is everyone's moving at stupid fast speeds because of skiing and so it's really quite a skillfull gun to actually use properly.

Saberhagen's SWORDS: there was one sword that just required the holder to say the name of the target and toss it in the air, and the sword promptly stabbed that person in the heart.
The problem of course was that a someone else could pick up the sword and use it on you, and so on. I was never clear why someone didn't just only use it on people standing right in front of them, but still, effective....
- Abyss, would prefer a pie that worked the same way...

I once saw my cousin smash a rival's face in with a brick during a streetfight. I also found out that when someone smashes someone else's face in with a brick, the correct response is to stop fighting and get the heck out of there as fast as you can. Which I did.
