Apt,
no Corrupted Ashbringer?
Anyway,
I like Eterne from Gene Wolf's Knight.. Its already been mentioned.
Most of the weapons from Xanth are pretty cool, as is most of the punny magic.
But the best weapon ever: Moon's Spawn.
HE CRUSHED A CITY WITH IT.
what now.

Monster Hunter World Iceborne: It's like hunting monsters, but on crack, but the monsters are also on crack.

Saberhagen's SWORDS: there was one sword that just required the holder to say the name of the target and toss it in the air, and the sword promptly stabbed that person in the heart.
The problem of course was that a someone else could pick up the sword and use it on you, and so on. I was never clear why someone didn't just only use it on people standing right in front of them, but still, effective....
- Abyss, would prefer a pie that worked the same way...

ahh yes Farslayer...very cool sword except what you mentioned about it getting sent right back at you. It would track its victim anywere, and phase through stone walls, ground, whatever. Only another 2 of the other swords of power could stop it.
I believe someone even killed a god or two with that sword...
yes FarPier would also be cool

I just thought of a sci-fi weapon that can do just about anything the weilder wants it to do without having to do anything other than just point it and say a witty comment.
This thing can open doors, kill robots, and bring down entire intergalactic empires.
The Doctor's globally reviled Sonic Screwdriver.

I'm tempted to give you a negative rep just for mentioning that in this thread.

Does a mech from the Battletech series count as a weapon?

oh yeah mechs count, or at least the guns attached to them. PPCs rule
whatever gun the guy uses in the contra games. A neverending stream of devastating bullets and no reloads EVER. Totally awesome.
the whips of castlevania. Why shoot a vampire when you can murder his ass with a whip??
and I always dug Glitch from "reboot". Turns into everything.

I agree .. Darth Mauls twin saber was awesome.
I also liked the sartan spelled assassin knife that Hugh the Hand used in the Deathgate books.
Have to give a nod to Gemmell's 'The Swords of Night and Day' and 'The Swords of Blood and Fire' as well.
And yes ... Snaga, the sender, the blades of no return. Love it.

If lightsabers are in, how about deathstars?
Keeping to fantasy, I love Dragnipur, but that's also because it has a good keeper.

If we're allowed sci-fi weapons, then by far and away it has to be the Lazy Gun from Iain M Banks' Against a Dark Background - Here's some wikipedia blurb for those unfamiliar with it...
Quote
The Lazy gun is massy but light, and weighs three times as much when turned upside down. The Lazy Gun is the only weapon known to display a sense of humour.
To fire the Lazy Gun, it is pointed at the target, zoomed in, and then the trigger is pulled. What happens next is unpredictable. When fired at humans, many different things may occur. An anchor may appear above the person, giant electrodes may appear on either side of the target and electrocute them or an animal may tear their throat out. Larger targets such as tanks or ships may suffer tidal waves, implosion, explosion, sudden lava flows or just disappear. When fired at cities and other such targets, thermonuclear explosions are the norm, although in one instance a comet crashed into the city.

You're a bit late, check DM's post on Page 2.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I'd agree with whoever said the Point of View gun, from the Hitchhiker's guide....
When used on someone, it will cause them to see things from the point of view of the person firing the gun. According to the Guide, the gun was commissioned by the Intergalactic Consortium of Angry Housewives, who were tired of ending every argument with their husbands with the phrase: "You just don't get it, do you?"

From warhammer 40K: Gorechild. Giant chainaxe with teath ripped from the mouths of mica-dragons. My personal favourite.
From Alastair Reynolds: The Hypometric Device (think that's what it was called). It made holes in reality. Whatever was in a certain radius of where you aimed it just ceased to be there. Even the people who used this thing were fucking scared of it.

Don't worry Brood, he has nothing on you. It was page 3

I'll create the best weapon in fantasy/sci-fi when I get round to writing an epic after developing my writing style.

And on scifi weapons I've been playing with recently, for sheer humour value, the charged gravity gun. Love that physics engine.
