The forum is really drying up, it needs a fresh injection of energy. The only new material, for me, is really in the sport section.

Like, say ... the prologue to TTH. Or RotCG.

Yes, a prologue would be just the thing to dandify this this rather humdrum area of the web. Please proceed.

I'm pretty much certain that Rake is going to be killed in this book.
We know that rake is going to meet his "vengeance" from an earlier novel, we know that traveller/dassem picked up the weapon and preferred the name vengeance over grief. From an interview with SE (and I forget which one) we know that he says he's been dropping hints about the latter story in every book. and from the prologue, we know that
So presumably, Dassem is pissed that Rake didn't do anything to stop what happened to his daughter, and is going after him.
Although the "ancient" part could just refer to Clip going after Rake for abandoning the people that worshipped him.
In any case I'm pretty certain he's going to die.

And in Black Coral, where Anomander Rake, Son of Darkness rules, memories of ancient crimes are stirring, intent on revenge.

I don't understand why people love him so much. He's a completely awesome character but I'm not losing any sleep over his fait.
Now if Kallor dies, I will of course be completely crushed and cry myself to sleep.

As far as we know there is no reason for Rake and Daseem to fight, he might be going after hood but has no reason to fight rake unless he interferes for some reason.
SE doesnt seem to be one for prophecies that are set in stone so I wouldnt put to much stock in the Rake being met by his vengeance being so literal

Just because he's such an integral character in most books I guess. I won't cry, I'll reserve that for Apsalar dying but I won't be particularly happy.
And I really want Orfantal, Korlat and Kallor to have a big showdown.

That's true, it's just all the evidence points towards a confrontation between the two.

Again with Rake dying?
Since RotCG should techinically take place before TtH, Traveller will be busy elsewhere.. the "Grief" we hear of will prolly relate back to Clip, Nimander & co
on The matter of Rake, im sticking to my now ancient theory: Karsa will shatter Dragnipur from the inside with the power of "WITNESS!!!!!" and that'll be exactly what Rake wanted him to do...

My new theory (that I made up in 4,35 seconds):
Karsa will take Burn's Hammer from Brood and shatter Dragnipur with the hammer because he dislikes chains. Then we might see the Son of Darkness unleashed for the first time...

I'm 50/50 on Rake biting the dust in this book.
I don't think Kallor will bite it...not yet

I don't believe either that Kallor is going down in TtH...maybe not at all.

Cutter peeps... Cutter. I wonder If he'll take up his old name or remain Cutter. Return of Rake, probably QB, hopefully Paran....
Hope Rake don't die.

Cutter needs to rescind his awful name and become the Crokus he truly is.

Yes it will be revealed, as Brood so cleverly deducted, that he is the mysterious third founder of the Malazan Empire so far unknown.

So...
Any luck getting the prologue? I just be-bumped the RoTCG thread, so I figured I'd bump this one too. Or as they say in French, J'avais pensé remonter le fil
I used Google Translate too!
EDIT: Sadly, Translate now translates the phrase back to "I had thought up the wire"... Sad
