hleb, krkic, pique, sylvinhoand even kieta are not short on inexperience and any non first teamer featureing in a barca shirt should be playing out of their skins when given the chance to break into the squad, and as for the youth, i'd say arsenals youth squad could give the first team a tough game, surely barca, the greatest team in europe should be able to field something similar against a low quality opponent

I can't understand why we're so bad at defending set-pieces, it's unbelievable. The other goal was just a freak where all of our defenders turned off at the same time, which while disappointing isn't something I'm particularly concerned will ever be a regular concern.
I'm a bit concerned that with Ronaldo being a moody bastard we're rather overdependent on Rooney's hit-and-miss scoring skills for goals, because Tevez is honestly a terrible finisher and I'm sad to say that I wouldn't be displeased to see him leave. I like him, but with the arrival of Berbatov he's become almost irrelevant, because he's not as good as Rooney and he's not as versatile either. We'd almost have been better off with Wellbeck, Manucho or Campbell last night, because for all that he scored a good goal, he missed three or four gilt-edged chances to win the game and lost out on a couple more through-passes and crosses because he's not fast enough to play from deep like he does and still get on the end of them.
The other main concern is Rooney himself - this season he's been brilliant and frustrating in equal measure and last night was that in microcosm. Some of his play was brilliant, particularly his passing and movement, but he kept losing his temper and was lucky to escape the attentions of the ref. If he can sort himself out he's still got it in him to be one of the outstanding players of this generation, but at 23 he's running out of time really. I reckon this season could end up crucial.

Inter were fucking awful in the first half, it's a pity Fergie was over-cautious because Rooney on the pitch would have absolutely battered them. Still, decent result in the end.
And Evans saved Ferdinand several times over the course of the game. Future best defender in the world. Funny that I was worried how Evans would handle the pressure. Who should Vidic be replacing when he returns?

Barce didn't have the best of nights, but henry's equaliser may prove crucial over the course of the tie! What a free kick by Juninho P again, the man must be the best in the world at them

I cant believe Roma ended up with 11 men on the pitch and only 1 goal down. Arsenal dominated, rubbish Bendtner proved why he needs to be banished from football forever, De Rossi's lunge was appalling, and Eboue once more made me chew my pillow in despair all night at his awfulness.

i can't for the life of me see what everyone else likes about Ryan Babel. Yes, he might be fast, but that matters little if he's too dumb to take advantage of it. If Keegan was five yards faster than the rest in the head, Babel is 10 yards slower. Fucking tard that man is.

What a performance by Liverpool, I hope Gerrard and Torres don't turn up like that at the weekend - but fuck me Madrid are crap. Some of the play, first half in particular, was amateurish.

I'd argue that it's spanish football not accustomed to the intesity of the English playing style. Real Madrid is not the first scalp to fall to that style, by any means.
And no matter what happens this saturday, you'll still win the league.

I have to say, Liverpool do seem to be the most penalty favoured team in history. Every year they get a host of dodgy pen decisions, it's like watching Man Utd playing a home game. I remember the sheer look of disbelief on Gary Neville's face once when the referee had the temerity to award a stonewall pen against man u at old trafford, I thought he was going to decapitate the ref before dying of a heart attack.
Arsenal Roma tonight, Im anticipating a 2-1 loss with us going through on away goals. Next round we'll lose though, as is tradition.
And fuck me, weren't Chelsea lucky? Im horribly amused by this "hiddink revival" shit, he's led them to a few unconvincing wins against rubbish teams, then scrapes narrowly past a ten-man Juve side who are rubbish compared to most teams in the CL anyway. There's no way they pose a threat to most of the other teams left in it. They'll probably draw Arsenal and beat us now.

Fate dictates that Chelsea shall draw Liverpool I suspect. 10 mins to go Man Utd 2 -0 to the good, you've got to fancy the Gunners in extra time and a frankly ridiculous game at the Camp Nou where once again Barcelona, the best team in Europe have turned up with a park defence. If Karim Benzema wasn't wearing kippers instead of boots then Barca could have been out.

There's the skin on someone's teeth that's been sacrificed to get Arsenal through to the next round.

I await the draw.
most fans are touting that we want to get porto for an eas through.
to be honest, for liverpool, if we make it to the final, it'll b eunited or barca facing us.
I'd rather take them on over two legs and get porto in the final
