It's a bit on the minute side at the moment and I'll post a pic once the bigger version is up, but:
Better. Much better than the US cover, in fact. Voyager are also listing a November date (which is more likely for both the UK and US, frankly).

Definitely better. But what, if anything, is that sword supposed to represent?

That swords will be drawn in the book?
Or it could be Blackfyre. Either or both of the Targaryen swords are expected to show up in the main series (after GRRM set them up in The Sworn Sword), so it would make sense for them to appear now.
Before someone asks why a dragon isn't on it, the UK cover for AGoT has one on there and they didn't want to repeat the motif.

We're getting ripped off. Although, in the case of Erikson it doesn't matter, because I get the UK edition.

Yeah, you're probably right.
@Wert or anybody who may know: I would guess aDwD will be a lot longer than aFfC was....right?

Almost certainly. Bantam was suggesting 1,000 pages in hardcover, which I suspect is BS, but certainly in the 800-900 page range, or 100-200 pages longer than AFFC.

Awesome. I felt that aFfC was a little too short.
My favorite thing to speculate on about this series is who is going to get whacked next....nobody is safe...

You aren't better than us at all things I could have been surprised by the way the US talks
It's a known fact Americans are Europeans who ran/moved away but that is besides the point. I do like the UK version. A november release date sounds a better bet than an October one in my mind.

Go eat a crumpet
I'm hoping the book comes out in October, but I won't believe anything until GRRM himself says it.

A crumpet I don't eat crumpets I eat Scottish porridge!
The date needs to be confirmed by everyone who matters before you can be sure. I hope it comes out in October too but strictly speaking I'm not too bothered.
