Is it me or is it all of the sudden a golden age of fantasy? So much good stuff!

True...I imagine it stems from less of a stigma surrounding genre writing. And doubtless a bevy of fantasy-loving writers coming into their own.

It has been speculated that because he's not fond of the Bran chapters (he finds them really hard to write) he leaves them until last (he did with ASoS, apart from the Red Wedding chapter, for example). If true, that means he's nearly there. From that POV, the fact that there's only three chapters he needs to revise is a lot more encouraging than if there were, say, ten or something.

Nice job finding a silver lining in my cloud Wert :D

I'm trying not to get excited about this book until at least like June....it's so damn hard to wait.

GRRM read a new version of the second Jon chapter here.

Pretty cool stuff.

Unless the plan has changed, you should be able to go straight from Book 3 to Book 5 and read Book 4 afterwards.

Seconded.
But GRRM is REALLY dragging it now.
And he knows he can get away with it too, because no one wants another Jordan in the takes-forever-then-it-sucks-too sense.

- Abyss, prefers the takes-forever-but-is-at-least-worth-the-wait version...

That does sound like a cool scene, but I don't have a very firm recollection of just who Slynt is...it's been sooo long.

Maybe I should give Storm of Swords a reread before Dance comes out.

At this rate the only new material in the book when it comes out will be the Bran chapters.

Excellent. Slynt needed taking out. Can't wait for Dance....well yes I can cause I don't have a choice. Goes back to Lab to continue working on time machine

Did notice that the Cover of the US version looks remarkably like a doctored up version of "Y Draig Goch" (The Red Dragon) on the Welsh flag, colour excepted. Even down to the pose and the tongue.

Here's a link, if it works:

I wish my country had a flag with a dragon on it.
