But Dailey blatantly displayed bad sportsmanship and fragrant assault by striking Koshcheck in the face with a hook after the fight was over, they had been separated and the ref was between them... he even taped his shoulder to get his attention i think...

I agree, but I still say that four men attacking one man on the ground is a far worse case of assault than what Dailey did here. Dailey should be suspended/banned. But so should Diaz, regardless of popularity.

Im kind of glad Josh Koskcheck will get the next shot at GSP, it should make it a more of a standup war... while GSP might be a little bit better wrestler in MMA Koshcheck should be the first person in a while to defend the takedowns, stand and strike and even threaten his own take downs instead of just hoping to knock out GSP before it hits the mat like his last few opponents.

Iirc Kos couldn't really stop the takedowns the first time they fought.

Possibly, I don't agree with you completely, but you walk a fine line, every timer a fighter gets in a brawl or sometime of misconduct should they be gone for good?

If that is the case then Rampage Jackson would be gone, BJ Penn would be gone just to name a few good fighters, not to mention all the ones i mentioned above. Oh and so would Diego Sanchez for the push against Josh Koshcheck (mmmh guess he just brings it out of people lol)

Since The older Diaz isn't part of the UFC so Dana has no real power over him, he might not come back anyway, the younger one was involved but it was outside a UFC event, i think he needs to leave that one in that hand of what ever Athletic commission is making a ruling on it.

But your point does have merit and maybe it would be only fair... im just not exactly sure what all took place in the strikeforce ring so i don't what to think exactly

Yeah he did, but I think Koshcheck was also the only person to win a round against GSP since he lost to Serra...he one the first round if i remember right... So now while both fighters have gotten better Koshcheck should have to tools to make it a much more competitive fight....

Will GSP be losing his belt to him... well i wouldn't bet on Josh, but it should be a very very entertaining fight... I am a big GSP fan and i really don't find his last fights boring at all... but other fans have and this should give them a good show, since he is not a pure striker, he might even be the 2nd best wrestler in the UFC... at least in the 170lb division.

Wow so no one watched the Strikeforce fights?

No one saw Overeem destroy Bret Rogers in one round...

He made Rogers look silly...

Yeah Overeem did exactly what I figured he would.......DESTROY!!!

And I think it's safe to say Arlovski doesn't have a glass chin. He got nailed with some big shots by Bigfoot. I thought that fight would be a bit more even that it was.

Did anyone hear the Rampage-Evans conferance call? It was hilarious

I was surprised Rogers displayed such a bad clinch. That's what got him tossed and he wasn't terrible on the ground. Overeem did well in beating him like that. Still think Fedor beats him decisively.

Jacare's takedowns are a thing to marvel at. He was shooting in from about 10 feet away and still getting them. I'm going to try my best to emulate that.

Damn, the time is near for black on black crime!

I really want Rashad to win because I just can't stand Rampage.......

I think Rashad will stick and move will some small punches, hopefully land some good leg kicks and go for the TD as often as he can.

If Rampage wins if will most likely be a stoppage from strikes (obviously) unless Rashad manages to make it to the last bell .

I would love to see Rashad stop Rampage with strikes, but the man has a skull like a cave man.

At least is Rampage wins we'll get to see him get his ass kicked by shogun............ Again

Also, I wonder if Rampages emotions will get the best of him in the cage. He admitted he might lose his cool

I think the loss Rogers suffered to Fedor hurt him bad... he was scared to fight... scared to commit to an attack... I was surprised...

Overeem is good but I am not fooled into thinking he is unbeatable... he just looked good... I would still say Fedor beats him 8 out of 10 times..

I remember seeing Ice-Man knock him out... really good fight... I dont think Overeem can hang with a lot of the top Heavy weights... ie JDS, Cain Velazquez, Fedor, Shane Carwin, and I guess Brock Lesnar though i hate to include him with the others even though he has the strap...

But maybe he will prove me wrong... now that i think about it I would love to see him fight Frank Mir... i am a huge mir fan and i would love to see him fight someone other than a giant (wrestler) ... Carwin tore him up though... nasty style...

on the frank mir topic i saw an interview saying he was giving up the huge strategy.... gonna fight back at 240ish like he used too... i wish he would continue the work he was... one lost to a top 5 HW isnt a horrible thing, yes he needs to improve his clinch game, but I think the size is still a good think as long as he has the cardio to back it up... he needs to stay huge or think about dropping to 205... IMO... dont be wishy washy...

wow i have way to much to talk about MMA i guess...

on tomorrows fights the simplest way i can break it down is that i think Evans wins a UD or Rampage gets a KO/TKO... but anything can happen...

Before their stint on TUF I would have definitely cheered for Rampage in this fight, but now I'm kind of hoping Rashad picks him apart.

Still not too thrilled with this card; I'll read the play by play at mmajunkie.com but I'm not shelling out $45 for the main event only. I'm actually more excited for the undercard fights on Spike. This will be the third card in five years I haven't bought (though I just had a baby so having $250 cable bills is begining to seem impractical).

My picks:
Rashad - UD
Miller - Please vicious KO
Duffee -1 rd KO
Nogueira - 1 rd KO
Sanchez - 2 rd TKO
Amir - UD
Escudero - 2 rd submission
Melvin - 2 rd TKO
Cane - 3 rd TKO
Don't know enough about the last two fighters to make an intelligent guess.

I don't think the Fedor loss hurt Rogers that much, as he really did look good during that fight until the Holy Shit! moment arrived. Overeem just has nasty power in his knees, good boxing and very quick small movements for someone his size. I think Rogers was just really wary of Overeem's potential to KO him on the feet and had a brainfart when he went for the clinch. That clinch attempt was really hesitant, as if he'd changed his mind during it from "I'll go in" to "Wait, this isn't the game plan". The clinch is Overeem's bread and butter, to set up those knees, so I would have thought Rogers' trainers would plan to avoid time in there. Once Overeem tossed Rogers, it was kind of an inevitable thing because Rogers doesn't have the ground skills to hold off someone like Overeem.

I think Overeem beats Fedor 4 out of 10 and might actually be the second or third biggest threat to Fedor's unofficial title on the planet (depends on how you rank Dos Santos and Cain). Lesnar will annihilate Carwin.

I agree with you. I think Mir's recently developed size and strength is a good thing, but he needs to go work his clinch and boxing defense. He's never going to get the wrestling required to stalemate a Lesnar or Carwin in MMA wrestling, but he can utilize his jits and his striking - if he can avoid significant damage in the clinch and fence work. The Carwin loss occurred as it did because Mir left an insane amount of space between them during the clinch for the short uppercuts/hooks that Carwin threw. I really want to see Mir/Nelson, as I think Nelson has a decent chance to win it - and any Big Country win is a celebration for me.

Too bad it's Nelson/Dos Santos and we're about to see Nelson get lit up.

I'm not too thrilled about the overall Rampage/Rashad card, but the main event should be good and I'll watch it. Missed DREAM 14, and heard there's some good fights on it, so watch those if you can.

My picks

Good set of picks, and I agree with most of them.

I do think Rampage has the chops to pull off a KO and hope Miller can get a decision, as he hasn't displayed an overhand right that's powerful enough to put Bisping out in the past.

I also picked Brammer to beat Riley and Forbes to beat Jensen, but you're right - none of those four are going to be particularly relevant anytime soon.

Did yall see Tim Sylvia destroy the body builder with the huge name... i didnt pay for the PPV but read the play by play, he made the guy just quit... Travis Lutter got KOed on the same card...

i hope to see Nog win by sub... just cuz i like jitz...

Brilz is no pushover and even his one loss in UFC i personally felt he should have won (he lost by split dec i think)

i am pumped for the card, looks really good to me actually... better then some of the cards from earlier this year... the next few should be awesome actually...

I am a big fan of roy nelson too, he stands a chance against JDS though probably a slim one... he does have knock out power and his ground game is awesome... he might submit or UD JDS... i still would bet on JDS though...

Oh my god...... Was only going to have a few drinks last night, then realised DREAM was on right when I was going to go to bed. 12 drinks and 4 hours later I tried to go to sleep, ended up laying in bed fully awake for 10 hours feeling a hangover slowly creep up. Now i'm a hurting pos and tonight is gonna get ugly......

Won't talk about dream right now cause most of you probably haven't seen it yet, but all I gotta say is that ref is fucked

edit: Yeah that sylvia v Pudz fight was brutal. He gassed himself out pushing Sylvia against the cage for a round, then got super red and was done. Them big muscles ain't good for nothin.

Also did anyone see Jares Hess' injury at bellator? Nasty

Wow. I got 4 picks right out of 9 and 1 was even a bullshit decision (Nogueira). I drank a little too much wine and ended up buying the damn card cause there wasn't shit else on. Fucking hate that Amir lost. I had high hopes for him.

the Rashad/rampage fight went as expected... i didnt think Rampage would choke if given a chance to finish the fight, which he did in the 3rd round... Thats twice in 2 fights Rashad has been caught slippin in the late round...

it was a night of upsets really, Look at John Hathaway coming out of no where to demolish Diego Sanchez, Russow getting the surprise knock out punch after getting beat up for most of 3 rounds, and Jason Brilz possibly getting robbed of his win... though i sort of see why nog got the nod...

I am extremely impressed with Hathaway and cannot wait to see him fight again, he seems to have the skill set to be a good 170lber... good take down defense and decent powerful striking, and he record has some subs so maybe a decent jitz game too... he handled the pressure of a big fight pretty well too...

I like how these mid year ppvs are shaping up, should be nothing but good fights the next couple of months...

I wonder who Rampage will have to fight next... wouldnt be surprised if they gave him Forrest... i dont want to see that fight though...

Hopefully Miller doesnt get cut but he has dropped 3 or 4 in a row now... it will be tough for the UFC to keep him...

My brother had his 4th pro fight this past Saturday, he won by RNC in the 2nd...

The event was the most packed i have seen it, they had a band there and a bikini contest (which i had to miss due to the rules meeting and getting him taped up and stuff)
the first round

The 2nd Round
