Amazing fights all around. Best card i've seen in quite some time.

I really had to talk my buddies into pitching in for this PPV, but they're sure as hell happy I did.

Really good fights,

I expected Faber to put up more of a fight, he never changed his game plan once, and for sure should have starting the 3rd round... he looked worse then Renzo Gracie vs Hughes... I know the leg kicks damaged him early on, but he should have switched something up... Aldo looked really good,

I wonder if its just a Coincidence that all of Ed Soares guys are coasting out decisions or if its a planed fuck you to Dana....

Not that I judge any fighter especially a champ for being safe... Aldo looked awesome and he for sure won the fight, if he didnt want to put himself in a little more danger to try and finish a dangerous opponent then so be it, its his decision...

Awesome card by WEC... they really put on a good show

Oh and the Korean Zombie got Robbed.. completely Robbed. horrible decision... In my opinion anyway... He won the first 2 rounds, and maybe even the 3rd...Very good fight though... I dont agree with that style of brawling, its not the smartest way to fight, but damn it sure is entertaining.

I gave Garcia the second by a hair - he did enough in the stand-up to offset the back taking. The other rounds were straight Jung. Robbed indeed.

Still haven't seen the title fight or the Jorgensen/Banuelos one, but the ones I did see were nice. Benson is real slick with a guillotine.

@amp Jorgenson's fight was pretty good, I think that Banuelos got his nose broke early in the 2nd round and it really really affected his performances, if he would have been able to continue in the 2nd and 3rd what he did in the 1st (i dont even think it would have gone that far) he would have won... probably... as it was he gassed either from not breathing cuz of the busted nose, or because his conditioning wasnt up to Jorgensons...

Tito is saying that JJ has a drug problem and there was an altercation but he didnt lay a hand on her... mmmhhh someone or both someones is probably full of bs...

I never liked the antics tito used (or excuses when he lost) in the ring... but Tito seemed to be a pretty level headed and solid coach... I hope he wouldnt stoop to doing what he is alleged to do... but lord knows women can push you at times, but its never ok to actually abuse them in anyway... i guess we will see what happens,

Dana has said he has a high likely hood of being cut if they are true.

Jorgensen is very much the better fighter. Banuelos made the same mistake Bisping made against Henderson - he kept circling left. Just about any success he had came when he circled right, but the left circling must be some kind of an instinct that he reverts to when in trouble. It played perfectly into the more patient Jorgensen's game that we saw in the second and third rounds. In the first, he kinda came out expecting to put Banuelos away (which is difficult, because Banuelos is a tough out for just about everybody).

I think Aldo can be taken down the same way Shogun fought against Machida - lots of leg kicks, but avoiding the clinch.

Thought I'd mention: Rosi Sexton will be fighting in the UK for the first time in a long while, at the SENI show in Birmingham's NEC on May 22nd. Worth a visit if you've never been!
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

I have been impressed with Jorgenson recently, he did look sharp, I look forward to seeing him fight again... Someone who can swarm better then Banuelos might have been able to finish him in the first round, so he needs to watch that... make sure he stays careful,

am I the only person who was Disappoint Banuelos' lack of accent.... i mean he looked straight from south of the border with that epic stache but sounded more white than the blonde kid from saved by the bell...

Some good refing btw at that event...

Aldo might have some issues against a more wrestling oriented fighter, a Gray Maynard/sonnen type...or a couture clincher... im not exactly sure how deep his weight class is...

The best talent at 145 is mostly really young Brazilians - and mostly Nova Uniao guys too. In a couple years, it's going to be a sharkpit much like 205 is, but many of them will be from the same camp.

i'm going with the Dragon.

I reckon he'll have learned his lessons from the last fight, and do the job this time. (and i'm not at all biased by the money i've got riding on the fight........)

I think it will be another pretty close fight, but I see Shogun pressing the action a bit more this time and get the decision or hopefully a stoppage.

You're a brave man to put money on that fight.

Fucking Paul Daley....... What a retard, I was shocked that he took a swing at him

Bad night for Canadians tonight. I was glad to see Doerkson pull that fight out, fucking brutal about MacDonald

Stay tuned for more when im not wasted

I thought Cote could pull out a decision on sheer guts alone (staying in the pocket and outstriking Belcher), but nooooope. I really think the spike was borderline illegal, but Belcher's enormous size made it happen.

Rua is awesome and his win has turned 205 into the shark pit it should be.

Rua pwned that piss drinker!

What's the story behind Daley's sucker punch? Was Koscheck running his mouth in the octagon?

I think Koscheck said in the post fight press confrence that he was wispering something brutal to him at the very end of the fight.

Machida's first loss, and by KO, he was out cold, he was doing a good job at scoring the points with take downs and really switched his game up.. i think that is what caused him, he is use to going in and out and attacking, this new game plan allowed him to be touch one to many times by Rua... and way to swarm, plenty of times you see guys get full mount and not be able to do to much... its nice seeing someone able to finish one of the most dominant positions available in combat sports...

I feel for Dailey actually, it has to be frustrating fighting Koshcheck, Koshcheck was even shit talking while on top, (allegedly because dailey was eye gouging from the bottom..)

Not to mention that B.S. knee dailey got called on...2 fights in a row he has faked an illegal blow...

but thats no excuse to sucker punch someone after the fight is over ... and Dana was smart with quickly and harshly dealing with it (dailey is perma banned from UFC)
especially after that strikeforce debacle....

I was really impressed with this PPV, very good card that was more fun to watch the the last few UFCs combined...

that's actually an interesting point. what the Diaz brothers did is, in my opinion, far worse than what Dailey has done here. but as yet there is no ban or any real punishment from the UFC for them

If it is just because what Dailey did was actually on a UFC card that Dana has banned him, then that's an appalling double standard.

White is always the first to go on about the growth of MMA as a respectable sport. Given that, then surely he should be just as willing to hammer the point home by banning Nate too, for bringing the sport into disrepute (love that phrase)

thoughts?

It seems the Diaz brothers are really popular, maybe that has something to do with it. I really don't know, though.

well even though i watched the Strikeforce brawl im still not even sure what is saw, i would have to see a replay many times in slowmotion to see what was going on...

and you have to ask yourself who was defending themselves who who was assaulting someone... it was a lot of movement, a lot of chaos in the strike force cage...

and brawls like that have happened before... for sure in Japan, i think Boroni was involved, in fact i think it happened when Coleman beat Rua by a injury TKO... also when Nate Marquadt lost at one point a brawl broke out...

The closes thing to what Dailey did that I have can recall seeing is when Heath Hearing Knocked out his opponent cold before the bell ran for kissing him... he was DQed at first but then is was ruled a No Contest because the other guy touched him first with the kiss...

But Dailey blatantly displayed bad sportsmanship and fragrant assault by striking Koshcheck in the face with a hook after the fight was over, they had been separated and the ref was between them... he even taped his shoulder to get his attention i think...

In my opinion it is much worse the a communal brawl.. but that is just my opinion... i feel bad for dailey and I really hoped he would have beat Josh fair and square... but those damn wrestlers are so hard to deal with, especially for pure strikers...

Im kind of glad Josh Koskcheck will get the next shot at GSP, it should make it a more of a standup war... while GSP might be a little bit better wrestler in MMA Koshcheck should be the first person in a while to defend the takedowns, stand and strike and even threaten his own take downs instead of just hoping to knock out GSP before it hits the mat like his last few opponents.
