I never got the Mhybe hate in I thought she was just a plot device and I really just ignored her parts and just took them like one would take the description of a town or something banal but necessary

I forgot the Mhybe... Burn her, burn her with fire... Tellan Fire!

Tehol
*Dies from the hate that emanates from his monitor*
I've always enjoyed Erikson because he stays away from major cliches. But I found Tehol just so God damn irritating. And you just knew he was going to survive, no matter what happened to his character.
And with Pust and Kruppe, I felt we had enough slightly looney figures.

I think the Mhybe is one of the most heinous characters of the series , followed by Felisin and Karsa

I would have loved if Tehol had died in Midnight Tides, he would have been immortalised in our memories.
I don't have many characters that I hate but I dislike quite a few, many of the bit part players who don't have appealing personalities can be uninteresting. (although on rereads they add depth.) Basically my tastes and opinions change over time.

I found Felisin's parts in DhG terribly painful to read. I kept thinking, "Oh, this has to get better," but no, it always got worse. Erikson wrote her fall from sheltered princess to shattered bitch so well. I never hated her, or her POVs, I just felt so sorry for her.

I find these threads fascinating. From my perspective, I wish Felisin had cracked the world like an egg. Tavore's later actions don't eliminate the fact she sent her sister into slavery. Also, it's not Felisin's fault the plan failed. As a matter of fact, was Felisin ever even aware there was a plan? Now I hope Paran does his card trick on Tavore and sends her into chaos or something.

Erikson was very pleased with this story thread, and I agree it's up there with the best.
@Ammanas: My friend, I believe she did. I think Heboric and/or Baudin, at some point, knew about Tavore's plans. I may be incorrect however, I'm just trying to recall from memory. I want to have some good rereads soon.

Plan or no plan, Felisin's fall was the result of her own choices. She might not have made those choices had she known about the plan and she might not have made those choices if Heboric and Baudin had sat her down for a heart to heart, but that she made those choices, and that Heboric and Baudin made their choiceis is what makes the storyline such sublime tragedy. From a literary perspective, it really is one of Erikson's best storylines...right down to Death-by-Tavore-the-Ignorant.

Its interesting to see how much some people can hate certain characters so much. i find that each character is just another window to the world that is what Erikson son has created. personally, i would have to say the only character i really "hate" is "the warlock king" forgetting his name now, not cools. but they're all different sides to one dice.
I just blew your mind.

I have to say Kruppe. Not that I hate him he's just so IRRITATING. And I'm just not convinced that he's as uber as he's supposed to be (same with Kellhus in PoN)
Feather Witch, need I say anything?
Karsa irritated me at the beginning, but he's progressed into a really cool character.
Clip can be quite annoying sometimes, but I just ignore him mostly, he's just an arrogant show-boy, nothing more.
Of the rest, maybe Mok (but that's probably cause he kicked Tool's ass
)

Let it never be spoken of again.
You've got to give Erikson credit. Kallor's treachery in Memories of Ice, there wasn't a hint of forewarning. One moment you were reading calmly, the next sentence he's suddenly swording with Whiskey and you're thinking, no Steve you're going to --- nooooo, not him!
But the best way to hate someone is not the eradication of 12 million taxpayers a hundred something thousand years ago you've never met, but someone you've gotten to care for.
Bidithal's genital castigations of girls . . . chocked on his own golf balls, I very nearly laughed aloud.

Agree with both points... and I did laugh at that, I'm sure - Bidithal really deserved that.
I don't actually hate many characters... I hope the Errant comes to a suitably abrupt end soon though.
Also, Korbolo Dom and Mallick Rel are complete bastards (and S.K, of course.)
Although, full credit to SE that I don't hate Kallor anymore.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.
