Anyone know if there is a solid date set yet for publication of this book, whether in the UK/Canada or the US? Will it be released in hardcover format first or simultaneous hardcover and trade paperback form?

I think its this time next year. Or a year on from the new Bantam publication of NoK.

ICE has only recently handed the transcript to the publishers, iirc, so about a year is the normal estimate. It's Bantam though, not Tor, so it won't be released in the US yet, I don't think.

Last time I spoke with Cameron, Tor Books had not made an offer on his works yet.
As far as I know, Transworld are hoping to release RotCG in May or June of 2008.

Seriously isn't it cheaper to buy it from amazon.ca or can you folks just not wait a month?

It is not 'cheaper' enough to make the wait worthwhile (based on the experience from BH and RG)

Tor will eventually make Cam an offer, but they are, after all, american, and prone to sitting on the fence until success is a sure thing.

Oh dear!
"I think i was a bad person before. Before this time. I do not try to be good now but i am not bad. Perhaps if i try harder i may get a better hand dealt next time? But surely that makes it pointless? Perhaps i am good. Just good at being pointless. But that would make me bad. Bad at having a point. Ah…. I see now. I was nothing before, I am nothing now. I am bad purely because im pointless. "

Agreed.
With the Looney at something like a 30 year high - it makes purchasing from Amazon.uk a little less painful.

Any news of when PS Publishing is going to offer the Limited Edition? I would like some heads up beforehand for budgeting purposes...

PS Publishing just sent out an email to preorder the Limited edition for delivery early in 2008! No exact date, but taking orders is a good sign!

Howdy folks,
here's the link to PS Publishing's news about ROTCG.
http://www.pspublish...k/cat/rotcg.asp
As you can see it's a 2 volume slip-cased hardcover with a limited release of only 300 copies for £75 / $150. A bit more expensive than most releases in the SE / ICE series by PSP but still an investment I intend to make.
I can hear your wallets cringing already.
