Just Finished book 5 of Campbell's LOST FLEET: BEYOND THE FRONTIER and thus, the series.
Very satisfying series... min one awesome space battle per book, usually two or more. The last two books' engagements were ridiculously rivetting.
Campbell worked in way more worldbuilding and character dev this time and it utterly paid off. If you read and enjoyed LOST FLEET, i reco this.

Now a chapter into Shannen Chakarabortay's Daevabad trilo bk 3, EMPIRE OF GOLD, earbook.
It's SO. DAMN. GOOD.

I loved Beyond the Frontier as well. Great continuation, well imagined aliens
How would you rate the Daevabad series as a whole? been meaning to take a look at it

Daevabad is brilliant. Nicely original Arabic-based setting, interesting magic, fantastic well written characters, and while relatively low on action, when swords and spells start flying things get pretty nuts.
The author is very very good at ratcheting up the stakes in one storyline while lulling the reader into a sense of stability in anther and then bringing it all together.
The advance reviews and coments on bk 3 are glowing.I recommend.

Re Campbell, he also did a 4 book series LOST STARS, about the Syndic characters from early in BEYOND, and a prequel series GENESIS, and i just discovered a spin off five issue comic as well. Have you read those, any good?

No, though the Syndic series is on my radar.

BTW if you like Tchaikovsky, we got more books coming from him.

About half way through Michelle Obama's Becoming.

Thoroughly enjoying it so far - insightful and gently humorous.

Cool! I'm taking a bit of a FORGOTTEN RELAMS detour right now, but after that I'll finish ARROW'S FALL and keep going with this series.

My FR collection went in trash in the divorce pile and years later I regretted it(when I got back into DL), and damn I had a ton of those omnibuses 7 maybe 8. I only finished 2/3s of the 1st omni, Crystal Shard, maybe Homeland or Exile? Been a minute since then so the individual titles are escaping my meats.

I want all the Drizzt books (they look so fresh and clean on the shelf next to one another), and I want the Erin Evans stuff too, and possibly Kemp.

I'm a LONG way from having a lot of them....

Sonofa....

So Books 5, 6, 7, and 8 just came for Drizzt now...

And the cover art is mostly fine, but the spines of 5, 6, and 7 are in Roman numerals...but they switched at book 8 to Arabic "Book 8" instead of "Book VIII"...and the D&D logo is slightly different too..

My OCD is going into overdrive....Fucks sake...

I'll just leave this here ...

Not in order, starts top right. Some titles hard to read, sorry. Blame the phone camera.

Started RG early on the reread, and also lifted Fall of Gondolin off the shelf.

Going to dual read.

I suppose it technically a triple read, I still have court of broken knives as my bedside book too

Further confirming for me that I should wait to read both once BATTLE GROUNDS is out.
