They should call it the Tweety of Versailles, cuz this one's for the birds.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Anyone laying odds on how long this will last? Be lucky to hold for the 60 days

Hopefully they really will give up the uranium, now that blocking Hormuz provides an alternate threat.

Trumps ego is in the fight of its life between his weakening polls and the fact that everyone is mocking this deal. We will see what he does.

What's the over under on this ending anytime soon? Like is he still just pumping and dumping the stock market every week, or is the US really looking for peace because the stockpile of oil is down to 4 weeks left? Are they worried about the midterms?

I dunno. I just want it to be over and I'm just tired.

So how many repeats of "We have a deal! NOW BOMB THEM!" does this make? Three? Four? Do we count the original deal Trump tore up?

He does it like every week to pump the stock market and enrich his friends and family more.

It looks like some IRGC people are just launching at ships even when Iran's govt isn't on board. If they keep doing that, there's no real way to keep the Strait open, one way or the other.

The thing you need to understand is that the IRGC controls Iran, the govt is inextricably linked to them and always has been. In that vein, the Iranian govt IS on board, as the two are one. And I'll be really honest, they have no reason not to while that toddler in the Oval Office and his Israeli buddy keep fucking around publicly.

Both those things go without saying. But if they were settled on war to the end, why agree to the MOU in the first place?

Both I imagine. Still, beyond the wealth of snappy one liners, Iran signed on with the temporary peace for some kind of reason, and I think it might actually be helpful to try to understand that.

War, peace, total anihilation, they’re a great people, they are tricky negotiators, they have no cards, straight is open, straight is closed because we closed it, peace, war.

The best description I have read remains that Trump got bored of the war he started. The reason he retreats to vanity projects is his ego but also because demolishing the east wing can be done in a day, upgrading the reflecting pool in theory only a week. He has no long term vision and whether it’s his personality or dementia he is incapable of seeing through complex projects. Even boycotting his parties own bill which will become law regardless is an example of how shortsighted he is. He is used to governing by tweet and the moment that fails, even amongst republicans (where is almost godlike) he can’t summon even a two step plan to influence them.

Iran is a huge problem. What’s a bigger problem is the ‘leader’ of the free world makes world altering policy decisions on the spur of the moment by tweet and sound bite and has no concept of thinking through the next steps.

If the average US citizen no longer takes anything he says seriously I don’t imagine Iran, NATO, our allies do either. Every government must have a task force of psychologists trying to analyze him.

It's not hard to understand... Iran wanted the big bad superpower to stop bombing the crap out of their military and assets.

At the same time they also wanted to continue supporting terrorist groups, repressing their own people, murdering dissidents, controlling the straight of hormuz, and developing nuclear weapons. And anyone who believes for a second that they will ever actually stop doing all of those things - short of a complete regime change - is kidding themselves massively.
