They talk about this on one of the watch party episodes where they kept going for big names expecting to be turned down but they kept landing who they wanted.

Edit:

I also absolutely loved the music for... (tv show spoilers):

The last 3 episodes are so damn good.

Episode 10 is probably my favorite of the entire series so far, at least through the first watch. Sam Riegels song during the battle is going straight on my DM DnD battle playlist.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

The Kevdak battle and the lead-in to it were dope, as was the final battle in S02E12. I ended up surprised by the outcome of that battle, as everyone's comments upthread had me expecting a different outcome. This show really hits all the marks!

Yeah, it was an exceptional finale to the season. Really enjoyed it. It's funny, way back in the first ep with the guy being like "Where does your strength come from?"....I knew the answer, but it's nice to see Grog come to it on his own over the whole season of events. My fave bit was when his cousin gave him the axe and he like leaned down and asked it if it could hear him...just to make sure. LOL

Can't wait to see what's in store next season!

Hi guys,

Just wanted to step out the floor boards, chirp up and thank you for getting me into Critical Role and DnD in general.

Finished my catch up and currently sitting just 2 episodes behind current games. I will admit it took me a while to get onboard the Bell's hell's bandwagon. Not sure i got the narrative appeal but the character choices have been WILD. Campaign 2 with the Mighty Nein was stellar storywise. It had me running my own VTT's and I only just finished my first campaign. It's incredible to watch it all animated. Travis and Sam outdid themselves on production.

DnD wins all around regardless of how WotC self imploded this year. Just really loving the way TtRPG has taken off. The book loving art geek in me is having the very best time and I have malaz to thank for it,

so cheers.

Looking forward to finding the time to catch up on this season, hard to believe Critical Role has got to what it is today.

Glad to hear you've enjoyed the journey, I don't understand how people find the time to catch up I've been listening since around Kevdak, and it was an achievement for me to catch up and keep pace, can't imagine catching up on several seasons!

Would love to do a DND session with some malazites some day though!

That sounds like a good time. Pretty sure we could run a Malazan game on the forums?

I mean Roll20 screenshots would do most of the heavy lifting for battles.

We could plan play windows so its synced up to free time. Also it could be a fully premade adventure to minimise prep and keep playtimes reasonable.

Im no expert but it feels doable.

Vox, s2, eps 8-10, Grog's story more or less. GLORIOUS.

Ep 11. "The other way.". I may have passed out from laughing.
Someone tell me they did that in the streaming show?

I would imagine they did. I can VERY much see Sam Reigel suggesting this out loud as a route "into" the dragon, and Matt laughing his ass off and saying "roll for initiative and stealth"....
