Dude that demon vs dragon fight was badass.

It’s funny because in the livestream when they summoned Yenk he was largely useless against Vorugal. That was so much fucking better.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Two eps into S3. Hell of an opening to ep1, the dragons are appropriately hard to beat. Very enjoying the enemy in ep 2, threatening and effective and ambiguous.

Vex/Percy and Vax/Kayleth really need to get a room(s) and get it out of their systems already.

....but not Pike/ Scanlan, that's just wrong on every level.

Eps3 and 4 done. One room gotten, at least. The Hell thing was a bit overdone but the demon v dragon was GLORIOUS, as was the follow up.

Eps 5-6-7 down. SPOILERS HERE

MAJOR SPOILERS

FOR EPS 5-6-7

K the baby dragons were rightly terrifying. That whole sequence was very well done. They did everything they could and were still overwhelmed.

....and it was painfully obvious where Percy's storyline was leading. Painfully. The moment he confessed his love... yep... here it comes.... and then they gave us that stupidly awesome gunfight sequence and it really looked like he stood a chance. ...and of course, OF COURSE HE HAD TO DO THE NOBLE STUPID THING FFS. I'm not really complaining, it was well done despite the obviousness of it.

Really interested in your thoughts on some of the changes they've done when you get to the end of the season considering you've watched the campaign.

Eps 8-9.

MAJOR

SPOILERS

The twist w Thordak being ready for the attack was obvious but what came next.... DAMN. THAT WAS SO GOOD.

I absolutely love the moment when they are panicking, no one has a plan, everyone's freaking out....

GROG TAKES CHARGE.

And then the battle.... that was just wild. So much happening on screen, the pace was insane, the final moments pretty much perfect.

Even w Raishan's sudden-yet-inevitable-betrayal (nice touch, her taking Thordak's corpse w her) I'm kind of amazed there are still three eps left in the season after that.

Finished the season. I think it wraps up pretty well, and breaks a couple holding patterns the show was treading water over. Those last three eps do have enough meat on their bones, so it’s definitely not just three episodes of denouement, though there’s that too.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

10 was surprisingly effective. Keyleth's magic quest was a bit trite but Pike tracking down Kaylie was cute and Vex n Vax going after Ripley was just fantastic.

This year the animators bought a software plugin called "dapple everyone with sunlight through tree leaves".
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Wrapped up.

I do think the seasons finale ultimately is a flaw for the show, in the ling run fatally so.
The lack of fatal removes real threat level.

It's taken me this long to get back into VM for Season 3 (moving house, vacation, ect.) so I'm 2 eps down and really enjoying it. This show (and CR in general) is just warm and comfy for me....even when it's emotionally draining. Dedicating Ep 1 to Lance Reddick was a fresh punch in the gut, but I'm so glad they did it.

Keyleth and Vax being like "Let's hide this from the group"....like who are you two kidding? Vax calls you KeKe in their company dawg, they know! LOL

Seeing Marquet, which I know is where Bells Hells (Campaign 3) takes place is not only a nice cool new setting for this portion of the story, but it's n ice to have a visual to set against when I get to that Campaign in the podcast.

------------

Also, coincidentally now that I drive to work more often than not I've FINALLY gotten back into the podcast of THE MIGHTY NEIN campaign (I'm at around ep 20 so still a long way to go) and it's so great as well and I cannot WAIT to see what the animated show looks like later this year. Speaking of....when will a trailer drop for it? I thought that they'd tease it at the end of VM S3 but no....I'm jonesing to see Jester in animated form! I know they dropped that animatic about 6 months ago where Jester runs into Fjord, but since it's supposed to debut this year you'd think we'd see something soon.

I love being a part of this fandom.

VOX MACHINA S3:

Me glazing over the fact at the end of S03E02 that the person that Vox Machina are going to see in Hell to get the vestige they need is Zerxus Ilerez cause it happened at the end of the episode....

Me about an hour later: Wait....WAIT.....FUCKING WAIT....Zerxus from fucking EXU: CALAMITY?!?@!?@? Fuckity WHAT?! Ahhhhhhhhghhhhhhhhh!!!!

Amazing. They don't seem to do a lot of crossover stuff, but getting to see Zerxus 1500 years later. Chef's Kiss. Checks to see if it's Luis Carazo playing him....IT IS!

fuck. yes.

If people haven't checked out the 4episode Exandria Unlimited Calamity series on podcast or YouTube...DO IT....it adds so much depth to this character.

THE MIGHTY NEIN (podcast episode 20)

Just got though that funny fight in the swamp with the alligator creatures. My fave bit? Matt as alligators rolling a dismal 1, and a 2, and then getting enthralled by Molly's spell...like you can just hear in his head "Goddamit, this fight isn't going like I planned it!" LOL

Calamity is one of the best/most enjoyable things I’ve ever watched, in any medium.

100% on realizing it was Xerxes. It was Caruzos voice that gave it away first for me. Holy sheeeeeet!!!!

Episode 4 of VM S3 is where we see Zerxus...and I'm not going to lie, seeing the stained glass version of the Calamity events was heart wrenching....and Pike using the knowledge of his family to win at the card game was awesome...I think the only thing that I'm disappointed by and it's not a story point, but rather that in hindsight Zerxus seems to blame his old companions for what happened to Avilir, falling in line with Asmodeus's lies and his use of him as a pawn, which I mean I get it....he got fooled AND hurt and the only embrace he found was that of Asmodeus in the form of his husband. I hope that one day Zerxus is able to escape his service to the lord of the nine hells...
