Rumor that Tim Tebow might come back and play tight end? The chances of that happening are slim to none, and slim walked out the door. Then again, Urban Meyer could want it to happen and have a U of Florida reunion at Jacksonville. I possibly (and using that word liberally) could see Meyer bringing Tebow in for leadership intangibles?

Yes, quite the hot topic here in Gator Country. Most football realists, I think, believe the chance that Tebow can play even backup TE after 8 years out of the NFL and never having played TE before is extremely slim. But Tebow has thrived before after being told he "can't" do something. And there is a very strong connection between he and Urban Meyer. Meyer just bought a house in Jacksonville 3 doors down from Tebow's, I hear. So who knows. Meyer better be careful he doesn't alienate his players right off the bat with this. Tebow has to EARN that spot to not get cut AND he will without doubt be required to play special teams, also. If the other Jags think Tebow's been gifted a position, there will be hell to pay.

But this might be a good thing for Trevor Lawrence! If Tebow makes the team, less pressure and possibly fewer questions for Trevor...

Agree, this could blow up in Meyer's face. Losing the confidence of the players before you coach your first game as an NFL head coach would not bode well for a long career. One of the angles I think this is about is for Tebow to be a mentor to Trevor Lawrence for the intangibles - competitiveness, drive, leadership, ra ra ra type stuff. One of the critisisms of Trevor Lawrence leading up to the draft was his aloofness about playing in the NFL.

Tweet by DT from Carolina. Can't say I can argue with that.

I definitely believe part of Meyer wanting Tebow on the team has to do with his locker room presence. And there is no doubt he has experienced the NFL as a young QB with a ton of scrutiny and attention, so he can be useful to Trevor Lawrence.

I was very glad to see Tebow's Gator teammate Brandon Spikes have his back so strongly when people apparently started making it about race.

I've believed from the beginning that the NFL isn't going to go well for Meyer, with or without Tebow. But I am biased toward Meyer with a strong dislike, I must admit.

I'm not a great fan of Meyer either. He seems to have convenient memory loss or blinders on when it comes to staff and players off the field behaviors. I'm not sure how he will translate to the NFL. Professional athletes can quickly turn on your style and you can lose a locker room, especially if you try some college football coach team hype techniques.

The Atlanta Falcons win the 2021 schedule announcement.

As a Falcons fan, I really enjoyed that post. Otherwise, I wanted the Falcons to choose a star cornerback or safety in the 1st round of the draft, but they went with a tight end from the swamp called Kyle Pitts. Well, the Atlanta Hawks are going to make the playoffs -- so go Hawks!

Kyle Pitts seems to have been the best pick for the Falcons based on analysts' commentary. I didn't watch him play in college, but the highlight reel of him is pretty convincing. Not sure if he has the thickness in size to be a strong blocking TE (he's tall, but leaner, it looks like to me, than other TEs), but, going by the highlights, he will be a nice weapon for Matty Ice to throw to.

Totally agree. Pitts should be awesome.

Interesting. The Titans could use another weapon, I suppose. I had wondered if Green Bay would make a play for Julio in a desperate attempt to appease Rodgers. I had also heard Baltimore made a lot of sense.

It seems to me that the Falcons should have got more for Julio Jones than just a couple of future draft picks. Well, maybe they have high hopes for Kyle Pitts and that's the future of the offense.

I think primarily Julio Jones is considered past his prime and the wide receiver position is a relatively easy (or easier) position to fill from a deeper pool of talent each draft. I'm not 100% positive, because I don't follow the Falcons too closely, but wasn't it public that Jones was unhappy? By all accounts Kyle Pitts is supposed be a rare talent, but all the accolades and highlight film doesn't mean anything if he lays an egg in the NFL.

Rodgers wearing that "I'm Offended" shirt. Is this relationship reparable?

So, what's been going on in the NFL? I believe some mini-camp and OTA stuff has been ongoing of late, yeah?

July is here and that means we're knocking on camps official and soon preseason. When's the Hall of Fame game? I believe that is the starter pistol for the preseason if I'm not mistaken.

Any you hand egg aficionados going to watch "The Match" tonight? It's a pairs golf competition with Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson teeing it up against Aaron Rodgers and that meat head-juiced gorilla Bryson DeChambeau.

The location is The Reserve at Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana. I hope they have some drone flyovers, as I'm very interested in seeing the beauty of the setting.

Rams' new jerseys. Nothing really jumps out at me as being any different, except the numbers on the jersey look bigger. That was my first take. Need to see more (on field play), to see if there is anything else that catches my eye as being different.

I'll be interested in seeing how Stafford does with the Rams this year.

The details that continue to come out about Richard Sherman, the more upsetting it is. Like beyond AB seriousness. I hope he gets the help he needs.

@paran falcon The Super Bowl ring the team received is ridiculous. It opens up to reveal a miniature stadium inside. You just know there will be bumps of cocaine or molly hidden in there.

I've thought for quite a while that championship rings were getting out of control gaudy, large, etc. But I must say, the hidden replica of their home stadium under the top of the ring is pretty cool.

Is that ring design the first time the Super Bowl MVP has been engraved on it? Dang, Tom Terrific though. Does he need anymore heavenly rays of light to bask his countenance in?

I just so happened to catch the 30 for 30 on the '85 Bears last night. I had seen it before and knew it was good, even though I HATED that team at the time. I had never paid enough attention to SB rings to even know that each players name was on their ring, but the show proved that was the case going back at least that far. I don't recall who was MVP of that SB but it could be that the MVP was also put on back then too.
