Fred Gambino's work is interesting. Michael Whelan is good, but looks a bit dated nowadays (he's very 80s)

I like Michael Wheelan as well, I used to have his "Leap of Faith" on my desktop for eons. And before that I had Avatar If I had to chooce only one it would probably have to be him. But I'd rather have several favourites. Posted Image

I really really like John Howeas well. He has done loads of very nice LOTR work.

Then there is Geiger of course, but he's more Sci-Fi perhaps?

Apart from that, for people interesting in ASOIAF art, I'd recommend Amokas portraits. Varied quality, but there are some really nice ones.

So, do you have a favourite fantasy artist? I really like the work of Michael Whelan, though I haven't seen any new books lately with his stuff on the covers - but then again, I haven't really been looking. The avatar that Lorn uses on the board is from a cover by Whelan.

I really like Edward Miller, who has done, amongst other things, the covers for Blood Follows, The Healthy Dead, Veniss Underground, The Scar, Perdido Street Station and The Tain. A very distinctive style, which I really likePosted Image

I dont know many artists but i have a graphic novel of David gemmells legend, drawn by Fangorn. Ive got to say that the artwork is awesome.

Alan Lee. His Tolkien stuff influenced the look of the films. Now they should just get their bums into gear and do The Silmarillion.

I agree that Alan Lee (and John Howe) are about the best Fantasy Artists, their work is stunning

Hmm after looking at some of the other artists you guys have posted I'd have to say that there is no Fav artist for me now.
I equally like;

Keith Parkinson
Luis Royo
Alan Lee
John Howe
Michael Welan
Edward Miller
Ted Nasmith

All VERY Good artists I'd have to say

Well, my favourite fantasy artisit is Larry Elmore. I loved his DragonLance art.

I also am a big fan of Julie Bell. She draws the human form so well. Posted Image

Well I have to say I like the guy (Stephen Youll) who has drawn the cover art for the re-release of GoTM in the states. I had a look at the website cadz posted and his other owrk looked very good. I really like his GRRM stuff I think thats very good, and I really wish that was on my book covers instead of the awful stuff thats on there now (the original cover I mean, the new British one is very nice Posted Image). And of course there is the art of ice and fire, but I can't seem to find it? Posted Image Bit annoying but that is very good work to Posted Image
