Great new forum! I dabble a little in art myself.
My favourite artists from way back: Boris Vallejo, Frank Frazetta, Simon Bisley
I know, I'm showing my age.
Here's a link to some of my fantasy art: http://elfwood.lysat.../c/jcb/jcb.html

@Gothos & BAD - I'm pretty sure that is who Cauthon also recommended once. He posted a link to some really cool work.

Then I qualify as stupid. Maybe you can use softer terms. Stupidity has nothing to do with not knowing something, but with not being to think/reason. Duh. And I think you mean _Brian_ Froud, not Brain Froud, no?
BTW, my favorite artist (at this moment) is Luis Royo. You may or may not have heard of him.

I like someone called Meghan "Seby" Dombrowski.
She drew the picture of the avatar I created, named Zendo for a web fantasy forum I have been part of for a while now, and it rocks! Thats my character!
[EDIT - Cool! An even better pic! Check this one out!]

I hadn't head of Luis Royo until now, and was really impressed by his work. No one surpasses Craig Mullins though. He creates most of his art on computers, drawing scenes with absolutely breathtaking lightning effects. The way he creates a mood with just a few strokes is beyond me.. He's a God! Some other good artists: Arnie Swerkel, Sam Wood, Todd Lockwood and Wayne Renolds. Some of the people drawing pencil-art for Warhammer are also extremely skillful, although I don't know their names.

Can I have a link to their websites? Or has someone already posted one?

Heh! Luis Royo rocks. Although some of his work is not for erm ... minors. And some of it is a bit over the edge. But is is nice all the same.

Luis Royo ROCKS !! !
I only saw him in a shop a few days ago. They'd rearanged their shelves and 3 of his art work books were the only ones on the one shelf. Got curious and was pleasantly suprised. Some of it is REALLY good. Altough it is definately not all for young kids. I noticed just yesterday the store moved the books back so there not in plain view...
Hmm wonder why ?

Hmmm... I was having a look at the Stephen Youll link Cruz posted, and some of the pics looked similar to the covers of Robin Hobb's books - the copies that I have of the Farseer, Liveship Trader and Tawny Man trilogies all have John Howe as the cover artist.
I must say that I do prefer John Howe - his paintings are beautiful, the way he lights the scenes giving them palpable atmosphere. Magnificent.

@Mulch: I hated Josh Kirby's covers for the Diskworld books, Paul Kidby is so much better.

Micheal Whelan and Ursula Vernon. I enjoy both of their styles. And Melody Pena, her art is amazing, so jealous.
