Haven't been round for a sec, so hope everybody is doing well
I never really got the chance to say it, but a lot of my youth was spent on here, including days and times when I didn't feel like I had many people to talk to (as you can imagine, nerdy sci-fi/fantasy devotees didn't exactly rock at high school), so a belated, but heartfelt, thank you to everyone here, past and present.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

That thread still exists, for those curious enough to go looking through several years of forum backlog. But most of the egregious stuff was pruned by mods at the time, so it's probably pretty disappointing if you're looking for top drama llamas. Great if you want to see Cougar delivering scholarly smackdown or my best joke of 2009, though.
I don't think the forum not being officially printed on the books has anything to do with us, it's just something publishers don't do anymore nowadays. It was a cool way of marketing and fostering a fanbase back in the 00s, but nowadays social media platforms are so much more dominant that there's not much benefit to it, and as Abyss says probably still some risk they'd rather not take for no gain.

bauchelain perhaps i like to be provocative. you can't really start a debate without it. now my position is that TTH is an incredibly daring and provocative attempt to capture a city in words. it is beautiful poised and deserving of the sobriquet of best fantasy book ever. i am hoping someone will provide a coherent arguement to prove me wrong. that is how debates work and i like to discuss things.
back on thread. none of you seem to see the signifigance of whats staring you in the face? why did SE use an ox pov?

You were a good egg then and still are now. Because you haven't hatched due to the magical pre conditions and the convergence still being a ways off from lining up right.

Coming to the forum was once a standard part of my day. Reddit replaced it for random links to stuff and arguments with strangers, but I don’t know anyone there. The social aspect of this site back when it was at its height was pretty cool.
