I just know him from the TV series 'Gilmore Girls' where he's playing Luke, the owner of a cafe(sounds spectuacular no?). Here's the link with some picures of him-> http://www.gilmoregi...org/scottp.html
Methinks he's got the bulk to play a Wickan or perhaps Baudin (if he's gonna be in the in the movie, I'm wondering how much of the Felisin storyline will make it into it). Furthermore he's got this kind of 'don't-you-mess-with-me' face. Watcha think?

An Orsan Scott Card book called,"Enders Game" was going into production and was going to be directed by Wolfgang Peterson, but I think it got ditched when WP went to direct Troy, does anyone know why? I'm just curious to know or to get an idea of the fate of Chain of Dogs movie.

I would chuck a question about this into the Q&A, but, not to devalue that section of our forum... he wouldn't answer, I doubt. Bah.

Antonio Banderas, Eh? Interesting point you have there...
For some reason the really annoying noble (can't remember his name) seems to strike me as a bit like a s nasty version of Lord Percy from Blackadder! So Tim McInnery, if you would!

i think geoffrey rush as the really annoying noble guy who i wanted to beat to a pulp.
i dont think AB would be Coltain enough. i agree with Richard to have unknown actors in the film (as long as they can actually act that is)

I feel he would be an excellent choice, but that is my opinion.
Who would you select for the role?

A bit like FotR then
. But yeah the Chain of Dogs would hit it off and would be a good platform to get noticed by. Am sad that Fiddler won't be in it tho

I'm not eternally cynical, that's my mother. I'm just scarred from a lifetime association with her
Besides, this thread seems to have a little more life now that it is official, no?
@sunshine
Not to be internationally ignorant or anything, but I was under the impression that Canada is hardly known for its deserts? I figure that geography, climate and environment would probably have a large part to play in the telling of the Chain of Dogs. Hence Australia (or somewhere similar) over Canada, I would think

I won't ask any more questions right now - as you seem to have enough to be going on with for now, eh?

I think there should be at least one well known actor for the movie. My pick would be Val Kilmer for the role of Duiker.

And at least rated 15 - we want gore, and lots of it please! And with LOTR, they did cut absolutely massive chunks of story out. I have met a lot of people who tell me they read the book after they saw the films and were surprised at how much there was in them! I, having read the book first when I was but 9 years old (10 years ago now - I feel old!) and at least 20 times since, knew what was going to happen, and was surprised when I saw the films.

I don't know -- I tend to think any movie about the Chain of Dogs needs to be populated with unknown/little-known actors, not 'stars'.
Antonio Banderas as Coltaine? Hmmm ... whenever I think of AB these days I keep picturing his character from Spy Kids
(err, for that matter the same goes for Danny Trejo
) Seriously though, is there any particular AB movie/role that makes you think he would be right for Coltaine? Geoffrey Rush I could see as Pormqual, but not really as Duiker .. Anyway, as long as Samuel Jackson, or anyone from Alexander or Oceans 11/12 aren't in it, I'll be happy
EDIT: If pressed to choose one well known actor for one role in this movie: Ian McKellen == Duiker
EDIT2: Christopher Walken == Mallick Rell (not the goofy/comedic/characature CW of SNL, but the brooding CW of King of New York

believe it...or not...and who says hollywood has to make it? hollywood would trash this story...no, methinks this must be done outside of hollywood...there is sufficient support in europe and australia to get this (and others) made...oh yeah...mess it up? not a chance
