it's been awhile since i've been in...efforts on the film have take a back seat recently to another project which should be online shortly...you'll love it...

CoD would make a terrible movie; without context it is soulless and would be one more dull fantasy flop harking back to the conan years but with big battle CGI (boring).

The "plot" without context (of the book series) is so cheesy its criminal... I'm aghast that SE would even contemplate sullying the reputation of his (and ICEs) series with such a woeful idea.

As for Australia for filming: spain would be far better, better landscape, variety and suitable ecology and geography, cheaper labour costs, better infrastructure, more experience with filming and you'd get free use of the spanish army plus an EU tax bonus/grant...

Why the hell would anybody announce plans on a web forum anyway?

Im sure erikson isnt stupid enough to have not taken that into account, CoD not having soul that is. They have added in a few extra things into the script that is not in the story which would no doub take care of it.

With Filming in Australia. Our Landscapes are just as good as spains if not better or more varieties, we would have the suitable ecology, maybe not the labour costs but im guessing they would be around the same, I would think we have a better infastructure myself and more experience with filming. If we can do big budget movies like the Matrix and Star wars im sure we can handle something like CoD

i don't speak spanish...watch gilliam's failed effort to make 'la mancha' for all the reasons why oz is preferable. add to that i'm half aussie...as for the other project, we film in november (sorry sh'aik, but just today i had to push back the date from early october)...as for details, i am wary of the hack, but i'll post the link as soon as it's ready (with admin's permission, of course)
