I like that twelve feet stick. I want one. I have read the Earthsea Quartet a couple of times. The first two books are fairly good quality, the third is OK, and in the fourth nothing actually happens. It is just boring.

Hmm... Patch's definition of "soon"?? Well knowing him, he could keep dangling the "soon" in front of our hungry and deprived noses to keep us drooling indefinitely!

The Rock only because Kalam is continuenly described as being a Big guy and because the rock is also a bit dark skinned.

OR Wesley snipes because he's moderately big and much more to the right skin colour.

Then again they both might be too much of 'big' name actors for this.

Patch, why a movie? A TV series would make a lot more sense....... You could throw in all the interweaving plots and so forth. That thing"Earthsea" was made into a series. Imagine how good DHG would be. In fact you could even start with GotM.

Yep, that's Earthsea. There are 4 in the series and some short stories. It was my favourite book when I was a kid. The miniseries was on tv last Easter. I was so excited but it was absolutely appalling.

Eldered - any reason for the two posts? I can delete one if you want.

Tiste- that would be great! Delete the second one please!!
And on Kingdom of Heaven, don't get me going on that, the best part was the fight in the forest, after that the flick headed towards the first rim of the toilet bowl.
Must focus! Focus! Try and focus on helping Patch.
Any suggestions you guys have as to what battles from DG to have within the film? Personally I wish they could have a bit of all of 'em, but budgets and what-not will probably say otherwise.

wes studi is a great actor and i agree...or, if not coltaine, bult...i also agree with your suggestion to use lesser known actors...not because they're cheaper, but they also carry less baggage.

personally I think I'd prefer if the actors are "no-name", then they won't have "baggage" from previous films (though some are perfect enough for some parts, so those I wouldn't mind Posted Image )

Feeling left behind Posted Image This bit about being the last ones in is a drag. I'm just finished with DHG and finally familiar with Chain of Dogs. I did't know enough of what it was to follow this thread. Now that I have I'm very excited to see it. To reiterate how fantastic is it to be able to follow a project like this from the vantage point we're provided in this forum! Sadly, I'll be so far from Australia as to completely negate any shot at being an extra.
What a chore to skinny this storyline to the Duiker basics. Although I'd be happy to sit through a three-plus hours of movie viewing which included the many story lines of DHG I fear the task impossible. At first, I felt a real disappointment when Patch announced the limited scope of the project, but will be eminently satisfied with a product so closely allied to the author. You are certainly far along in the process by now, so voicing preference at this late date would be so much vanity.
So here goes anyway....So much turns on each Sekala, Gelor, and Vathar I hope each makes it in some form into the final version. The arrogance of the nobles, the impotence of the High Fist Pormqual and ensuing treachery, Sa'yless Lorthal, the cameo of Mappo, the crows; all details carrying import to the viewer.
One final HUZZAAA!
